Thanks to ihug altering their Broadband conditions, I only have 25 minutes to get this entry out before my connection grinds to a halt, where it will stay until 2am, rinse and repeat till the 20th.
But it's not about that, it's about Jimmy.
No, I lie again. Not about Jimmy either. I've been doing a lot of work that won't be seen for a while. It's weird to feel productive but not having the usual rate of reward happening alongside it. I think I've faded out a little bit, I need to kick back into stuff this week.
By the way, when I said the books I got on filmmaking weren't very instructive? The next one I picked up has been way too instructive, apparently written for Australian Film Students working on Analogue systems (yech!). Still, it did manage to remind me of a useful editing technique that I had originally planned to use on Voice of Electronics, and now definitely need to.
So the Youth Day Out was a big pile of crap. I did get to see my Dad, and a bunch of the ex-WYC'D people that I get along with, but that was it. Overall I'm glad my name wasn't attatched to the event, and thankfully it seems I've faded outright into obscurity as far as Whanganui Youth matters go. No LawWatch Insane-os blaming me for crazy and random problems they have with society.
I saw X-Men 3, as I was bound to. I hate it for the same things I hated in the first two (character flaws galore), plus the plot sucked, logic was nowhere to be found, and it suffered from MK: Annihilation syndrome - introducing a whole bunch of characters that do nothing. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it! There's something about the sheer extent of Mutantism displayed in this movie that was missing from the first two (seriously, it used to be like they could only unleash their abilities in extreme circumstances). Action all over the show was very well done, except the Danger Room sequence which could have been infinitely better.
On a closing note, how do you all like my new portrait?
