Background: Sooyoung was born into a fairly normal family, with an older sister to guide her along the pains of adolescence and a pet dog to keep her company whenever she felt lonely. Her father was a high-ranking CEO for an electrionical company, while her mother was a former model and editor-in-chief for a fashion magazine. As a result, Sooyoung rarely saw her parents and instead grew to rely on her older sister.
Because of the lack of a motherly figure in her life, Sooyoung grew up to be a free-spirited and sometimes boisterous girl. She was the one who volunteered to fill in for one of the soccer players who'd sprained his ankle mid-play, and she was also the one who would rather spend the day playing video games rather than go for a manicure.
Although Sooyoung's mother tried hard to turned Sooyoung into a more...acceptable young lady, Sooyoung continued to choose sneakers over high-heels, and soon after her parents accepted her for who she was. Sooyoung enjoyed living life without having to conform to the guidelines of a typical girl, and even though sometimes her boyish attitude scares some people off, she did not see a point in changing.
Her older sister was the one who'd inspired her to step into show business, having joined the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation's voice acting division when Sooyoung was 7. Sooyoung often heard her sister rehearsing for her roles, and as soon as she was of legal age, Sooyoung went to audition for YTE, vowing to do as well, if not better, than her sister.
Personality: One of the things that Sooyoung is proud of is her ability to be friendly to even the coldest of people. The corners of her lips curve easily into a genial smile, and her bubbly words enable her to make friends more easily with other people. More often than not, Sooyoung ends up gaining more suitors than she'd be able to handle, if she is even able to find out that she is more attractive than she thinks she is.
Sooyoung tends to be a little more violent than needed, often smacking her friends in their arms or poking them under their ribs. Although it may offend some people, Sooyoung views it as her sign of affection and love for her friends (though sometimes she does use a little friendly violence to get what she wants, for example popcorn from a fellow trainnee).
Sooyoung sometimes wants to try being a little girly, especially after seeing how the other trainees go out for shopping and beauty treatments, not that she would admit it. She feels a little insecure at times, though rather than pouring out her woes she'd choose to lock herself in her room and blast sad, emo songs. Even so, she continues to put on that bright smile of hers and work towards her goal: debuting into the K-Pop market.
