curiosity killed my cpu
so last night i was on the phone with chris and was just
hacking away at my os while i talked. i guess i should
have been paying more attention, because something i did
messed up win 2000. in short, winlogon.exe is corrupt &
i can't completely start my computer, even in safe mode.
i can do a system repair, but i don't want to have to do
that. all i need to do is rename my backup winlogon.exe
to 'winlogon.exe' and delete the one that doesn't work.
except that i can't even get to a command line. anyone
happen to have a minimal kernel of some sort (win/linux/etc)
that i could use with an NT file system. if you do, let
me know soon, because i'm gonna do a full repair probably
tomorrow evening if i don't hear from anyone.
tonight i'm gonna plan with angela.
why did i break my computer?

oh, here's a funny story. kind of.
this morning at like 4:45 the alarm on my phone goes off.
i don't remember hearing it, but obviously i did, because
in trying to turn if off while still sleeping i ended up
calling angela. somehow. i'm not sure how or why i dialed
her number. but i didn't realize that i did it until
this morning when shel called to ask what i wanted at
ass-crack am. i said, "i didn't call you this morning."
she said, "yes you did, but i didn't wake up." so after
i get off the phone i look at my recent calls list and
there it was, at 4:49 am. i'm such a sleepy-head.
today is gonna be good. i'm gonna go snoop about how
much work i have to do. and the word around here is
that we get our bonuses today. woot.
