So the trip to El Salvador is set. I leave on the 18th of August and will be back in September. I am nervous and excited. Bug repellent must be purchased. I also intend to spend some time in bookstores in San Salvador, schooling myself on Central American authors, literary movements, and philosophy, oh my. Expect me to return with bug bites, exotic fruits and stacks of books. I've already received an email from my cousin asking me to buy her a bottle of perfume of the expensive, designer sort. She's somehow under the impression that I've "made it," job-wise, and can pretty much buy these things on a whim.
Little does she know that my most recent purchase was a 5 dollar polyester wrap dress, purchased specifically for the
Boogie Nights event that the boyfriend dragged me to. His everyday wardrobe translates too well to the late 70s disco/ early 80s disco death rattle period. We were probably one of the more legit-looking couples there. I really wish I had brought my camera. I need to put some mileage on that thing... so to speak.
Okay, back to work.
