Love Poems

I love a girl with wild hair
That vaults and curlicues and arcs and buttresses
Architecture from dreams
That refuses to obey Euclidean geometries
A cartouche frame for a face
That needs no makeup

You are amazing.

You are brilliant.
You wield a Promethean fire in the palm of your hand.
Do you realize that it is THIS that lights my way?
This flame is my guide.

I have changed profoundly simply knowing you.
You inspire me to greatness;
to be a better man.

With your laughter.
With your delight.
With your sun.

In all honestly, Love,
before you came into my life
I was selfish, self-absorbed,
egocentric.

You tell me how wonderful I am.
You say that I am caring, loving, kind.
And I am surprised.
This is not me.

And it isn't.

It's you.

Because-

You. Are. Amazing.

Far Away and Home

In the cold light of dawn
she is warm incandescence;
                  a sparkle
If I could but bask in that glow
till the end of my days;
                  all eternity
To lay beside exploring
enraptured by her breathtaking landscape

Great vistas, shining plains
texture, contrast, oceans of delight
expand before me, unending

She is a planet who's soft, verdant, outer stratum
envelops
unflagging majestic rock and relentless crashing waves;
         the syncopated rhythm of Nature
And at her core, a wavering, luminous, pulsing center
of heat
of sweet light and argent desire;
         an unquenchable nexus of energy

I come undone in the well of her gravity
in the sweeping vistas of her form;
                  I am lost
And enwrapped in the glow of her Sun
As it rises behind her right shoulder;
                  I am home
