Ever have the urge to run up to complete strangers who look like they're having a rough day or morning and kiss them and tell them they are beautiful? Because I had that going on this morning with just about everyone I saw. The plump teenage girl waiting for the bus, the little old lady struggling with her grocery bags, the business woman with high-heels in hand and the pinched, bitter face, the Harry Potter-ish guy who walked with his eyes on his shoes, the bleary-eyed, skinny young woman walking her dog who obviously got out of bed in a hurry because it was easily apparent that she wearing nothing under her sweats...
Can I say that my girlfriend is awesome? She's awesome! She realized that I'd be coming home from my weekend with the boys to a mountain of laundry so she did it for me (and sorted them in my closet according to my own OCD preferences). On top of that she got some beautifully-scented flowers for my apartment.
She's so getting a reward!
I'm wore out from my weekend with the fellas. Not only did I get home WAY too late, but I also am just suffering from "people fatigue". I love my friends (they're pretty much my family after all), but spending two solid days and nights surrounded by people can be wearying. It was worth it though. I had a great time. DUH! Two solid days (and most of two nights) spent doing almost nothing but gaming, drinking beer, and eating junk food... hells yeah I had a great time.
•Lawyer Bill's Call of Cthulhu game that took its inspiration from both The Sandlot and The Dreams in the Witch House. "And I would have gotten away with devouring your tender, young, living flesh as a sacrifice to the Old Ones if it weren't for you lousy kids!" ... ... Huh?
•Rufus' D&D Tournament in which I surprisingly found myself ranking third place. Two words: Summoners. Kick. Ass.
•Running a freaky, freaky western-horror themed Rifts game that (hopefully) raised some hackles, invoked some fear of an Elder God in people, and was somewhat irritating in regards of the bad guys taking time to shoot the players in the back while doing battle with a cyclopean, pulsating, gelatinous entity From Beyond.
•
Munchkin and all its various incarnations.
•Swimmin' pool and sunshine
•Most of all, getting to hang out with good friends whom I hardly get to see now that we're all grown up with families and junk. Sometimes we all need to get away and be a kid for a few days... and hopefully not get eaten alive by hideous Chaos Spawn.
... ... I think I might like the Cthulhu mythos a bit too much ... ...
