let me just jump right in: we're going to talk about character creation, kids.

If the Akkara Roleplaying Game is your first experience with tabletop gaming, the character creation process can seem a big daunting (or at least a lot of math). Really, it boils down to the four things that define what a character is: Abilities, Skills/Edges, Race, and Personality.

Abilities are four physical traits that define your character.
These are Strength, Dexterity, Wisdom, and Charisma.

Skills/Edges create the different professions found in Akkara, and show what your character can and can't do.
These include the skills Balance, Knowledge, Persuade, and Track.
Edges like Evasion and Two-Weapon Fighting are found here.

Race will detail the character's culture and history.
Playable races include Elves, Men, Northmen, and Wild Elves.
There are several cultures to be found in Akkara, but most are rarely PCs.

Personality lays out the morals and motivations that drive your character.
Are you a Legionaire of Roan, protecting the Western Kingdom?
Corsair of the Meredian Sea, beholden to no lord?
Mercenary from the Empire of the Sands?

The modifier system will be familiar to Middle Earth roleplaying fans but shouldn't be too different to anyone else. Your ability scores still create modifiers to associated scores, the numbers just function on a different scale in favor of the player.

I wanted to include something special in this post, like a full walkthrough of character creation. But, since I'm sleepy, I'm going to post a character sheet instead:
