Sample Interaction Post in Third Person: Francis strummed his fingers on the window sill of the train he was riding on through the English countryside. He could have just as easily apparated to where he needed to go, but he decided travelling the muggle way would be nice. He loved the lull of the train racing down the tracks; he could lean his head against the window and close his eyes, and it would put him to sleep for the rest of the trip. He was determined to stay awake so he could practice his English just a little more under his breath. He was alone in the cabin, so he was okay with trying. Had anyone been around, they would have had to simply deal with conversing in French or deal with his poor English-speaking skills. So was his twisted form of ego.

He knew quite well if he had stayed in muggle school, his language skills would be better. His English would have close to perfect, and he would have learned German or Spanish, too. But honestly? The trade-off didn’t compare. And he really wasn’t worried about it, honestly. After all, textbooks were still around so surely students knew how to read.

He almost made a rather unbecoming noise when the door to the cabin tentatively slid open. He quickly closed the book he had in his lap and stuffed it in his back at his feet. Whoever was on the other side of the door didn’t need to see a book whose cover had an animated photo, a book that he had hexed into reading itself out loud while he practiced his pronunciations.
The door slid all the way open and a young girl stared at him with wide eyes. He gave her a welcoming smile, and gestured for her to come in if she pleased. There was plenty of room, after all. The girl sat across from him and folded her hands in his lap. She glanced around, then locked her eyes on his back, which the book was sticking halfway out of. “What book is that?” She asked abruptly. “Is it good?”

“Oh… it is a book on local Edinburgh history.” It wasn’t. “It’s not too bad, I suppose, for a history book.” It was a simple lie, but even big lies Francis could tell with a straight face. After years of practice, they rolled smoothly off of his lips.

“That’s nice,” the girl replied, “You must be a hardcore reader or something if you’ve got it on your iPod, too.”

The Frenchman honestly had no idea what she was going on about, and it was apparent in the look he gave her. “My what?”

Now the girl looked just as confused as he did. She couldn’t have been more than twelve or thirteen, so she undoubtedly didn’t remember life before such convenient technology. “I swear I heard an iPod or something… you know… it plays music? Or audio books?”

“I know what it is.” Not really. “But you must have heard the intercom or something, because I don’t have mine with me. There was just an announcement that we’d be arriving to our destination within twenty minutes.” The lies kept rolling off his tongue. It was easy. Maybe if he kept at it, everything would get easier. He could wipe the slate clean, start anew with his carefully constructed lies-to himself mostly, and everything would be okay.
