Personality: She is a spoiled little rich girl who is certain she is better and prettier than everyone else and isn't afraid to say it. She constantly puts down her friends by insulting their appearance and personality while praising her own. She's loud, and the other character make sure to make note of this as often as possible. With her boyfriends, she's controlling, expecting them to do what she says and never question her. She's also gossipy and is terrible at keeping secrets. Still, there are times when she can be caring. She'll listen to her friends' problems and even give them advice in her own strange way.

Canon Background: Jackie is primarily introduced as Michael Kelso's girlfriend for the first season. She has no real plot other than to be obnoxious and hated on by the other characters. Also, to be a polar opposite female role to Donna's more tomboyish nature. As the series progresses, she starts to become a more prominent character, seen as a voice of reason even if it's in a blunt and bitchy way. Her major plots revolve around her and Kelso in which they break up and get back together again for various reasons, one being that he cheats, and another that when Jackie brings up marriage, Kelso runs away to California.

Over the summer, Jackie and Hyde hook up secretly. Unfortunately for them, their group finds out, and while they try to deny the relationship is anything but making out on the couch, eventually decide to officially date. But when Kelso brings his new girlfriend from California, Jackie becomes jealous, and this causes a rift between her and Hyde. Hyde cheats on Jackie, thinking she cheated on him with Kelso. When he admits this, Jackie breaks up with him, saying she promised herself she wouldn't stay with someone who cheated on her. Kelso announces he's going to fight to win Jackie back. This makes Jackie happy at first, since she enjoys seeing two guys fight over her, but soon she has to choose between the two. By the way, she chooses Hyde.

When Jackie's father is arrested for bribery, she is found to be spending the night in Hyde's room because she didn't want to be in her house by herself. The group tries to find a way to help her, and Donna offers for Jackie to stay with her. Jackie says no at first, not wanting to accept anyone's help, but soon changes her mind. She lives with Donna's family for a while, until her mom returns. Her mom begins dating Donna's father, much to the disapproval of both Donna and Jackie. When the relationship inevitably ends, Jackie and her mother return to their home together.

Hyde and Jackie date until she is offered a job in Chicago. Not wanting to leave Hyde behind, she asks him if he'll ever want to marry her. He says he doesn't know, so she leaves for Chicago. But actually not really because she ends up with no way out of town and after hiding for a while, she finally confronts Hyde again for a final answer. He tells her to have a nice trip, so this time she leaves for real and stays in a hotel in Chicago. Hyde, realizing he does want to marry her, goes to her hotel to talk to her. During the conversation, Kelso walks in to the hotel room in only a towel. Hyde thinks Kelso and Jackie were about to hook up, so he runs off to Las Vegas. When he returns, they learned he drunkenly married a stripper, and thus, he and Jackie are officially over.
