It’s the last day of school before winter holidays, and Jake is a little antsy. His foot is tapping uncontrollably and silently against the wooden floor at class, and his quill doodles loop after pointless, green loop in his journal. The Professor’s voice is only background noise to his ear, as his mind is attending more pressing matters at hand:
What to do during the vacation? He’s going to be away from his friends with nothing but watching the plant life grow around his bedroom as if the place is a makeshift greenhouse. His Grandma was a lot better at taming those vines than he ever was. He supposes he could visit Jade as well, but would that be too bothersome for her? She probably has a lot on her plate, what with her being a genius witch and all. Jane? She and her dad would probably welcome him with open arms, but what about the implications of that? Lalonde? Malarkey. The Lalonde household is a passive-aggressive battlefield, and he swore never to get into that crossfire ever again? Strider, then? Haha, um, no. Perhaps he could watch all the movies that premiered during the school months, but after that, what then?
He breathes a sigh, the heavy exhale of a bored internet-goer, and practically carries his weight out the door after class is over. All these folks are talking about presents, and Christmas trees, and families, he supposes he’s going to get presents from his friends too, but still, it’s not as fun without them. A girl from class walks up to him and smiles, and he smiles back.
“Hey, Jake, what was the homework Professor was talking about?”
Homework? Jake goes cross-eyed. “I’m afraid I haven’t the faintest idea what you’re talking about. Did he mention homework?”
“Yes! Jake, were you not paying attention?”
“I’m afraid not. The class seemed a tad droll to me, I must admit, though that is probably the holiday jitters talking.”
“Ah, excited to go home again, huh?”
“Not really.”
“But what about all the adventuring stuff you keep talking about?”
“My island only has one ruin to desecrate, actually.”
“Maybe you should try looking for adventure in other islands? There are a lot of islands at The Isles of Scilly, I think!”
By Gods, that is the most awesome thing he’s heard all day.
“Oh. Well, I gotta go, see you!” The girl waves at him, disappearing up the stairs and he waves back at her. He wonders if he could find actual mummies to fight, or at least a pair of affordable spandex shorts for his authentic Tomb Raider Sexy Thighstrap Double Holster. He likes to think he could pull it off as well as Lara Croft herself.

-It wouldn't be Hogwarts without classes, so if you feel up to it sign on up! Signing up for classes is completely optional. Teachers should post their class lists there to be added! We also have a place to list all current homework assignments.
