Personality: To start with, Eridan is extremely arrogant, believing himself to be right about everything (even when he isn't, and has no idea what the fuck he's talking about) and also believing that he's better than everyone (which, according to the caste system, he sort of is, at least in the context of being of a higher social status than almost everyone else.) He has an obsession with stories about historical leaders and conquests, which he attempts to emulate as best as he can, which only leads to him being more arrogant than he might have originally been. DESPITE ALL THAT, Eridan is in some ways a rather nice and caring person, albeit in his own self-centered way. Although he insists that he's going to wipe out all the Land Dwellers, he never actually does anything remotely useful towards achieving that goal, and he doesn't really seem to care that the device Vriska built for him wouldn't work. It's much more likely that those plans of his are really a charade, both for the purpose of making himself look like the ruthless and cunning leader he attempts to emulate, but also partially because his plans keep Feferi's attention on him. Despite their lower positions on the hemospectrum, he's friendly with Karkat and Kanaya, and although Gamzee's advice frustrates him he seems friendly with him as well. Part of his motivations for insisting on joining Jack Noir consisted of the hope that by doing so he would spare him and his friends once the whole thing was over, and he seems genuinely concerned and upset when he learns Sollux died. He spent the session more or less alone on his planet, hunting the angelic denizens and basically turning it into a death trap that nobody wanted to set foot on, leaving him completely alone until their final battle with the game's boss. Even then, after they had escaped from their ruined session and taken refuge on a meteor out in the middle of space, nobody wanted to have anything to do with him. Rose blew up his computer. Sollux, whom he wanted a rivalry with, refused to have anything to do with him. Kanaya made him a science wand purely as a joke. It turned out to be less of a joke when he went on a nihilistic killing spree, determined that as the Prince of Hope he was qualified to know when all hope was lost, and that their only hope was to join with Jack Noir. Feferi did not agree, and he was drawn into another duel with Sollux. With the power of the science wand, he managed to blind Sollux and then kill both Feferi and Kanaya as well as explode the matriorb, the key to resurrecting the troll species, before fleeing into the lab

Gryffindor: As bravery and daring goes, Eridan does not exactly lack these…but he doesn't exactly possess them, either. He's certainly bold about expressing his opinion, but that stems more from arrogance and his front of confidence that as a "noble" and a Pureblood he knows better than everyone else, but he is not likely to ever be the one leading the charge into a dangerous situation, especially if there's no benefit to him.

Hufflepuff: Patience is something Eridan does not exactly possess. He's quick-tempered and snappish, although he has a great aptitude for planning things out, he wants what he wants when he wants it. He does know how to work hard, and he does possess a strange kind of loyalty to those people who considers his friends, willing to go to

Sample Interaction Post in Third Person: Eridan knew he was good at Potions. It was a thing he had a fervent belief in, something akin to religious fervor if he'd held with such nonsense. It was a thing that was not true, as an objective fact.

There was nothing technically wrong with his potions; of that, he was certain. He'd been known to measure things once, twice, three times, throw out improperly cut roots and his entire potion if something had gone the slightest bit wrong. He made sure his ingredients were the finest and freshest possible, or not, as the case might be. And yet something always went horribly wrong. The professor had told him he "lacked the proper subtlety to be more than an adequate at best potions maker" but what the fuck did he know? Eridan Ampora wasn't less than fucking spectacular at anything, all evidence to the contrary. Whatever there was he wasn't doing right, he would fix it, and then he'd show that old pus-spewing mudlicking festering dingbat of a teacher just who was adequate at bestUnfortunately,
