Character Information
Name:John Cheese
Canon Origin/Series: John Dies At the End
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Personality: John is the kind of person who would have their last name legally changed to Cheese, fight back the forces of Hell with the power of rock 'n roll, sneak into a building wearing a purple cape, and still convince your girlfriend to have sex with him. But on the other end of the spectrum, he will come to a friend's aide at any hour of the day or night, and risk his life for a group of people he hardly knows. Although, that might be because he's not smart enough to recognize the danger.
Most of the things John does are for kicks. He gets bored of jobs easily, since he dropped out of college in his first year, he took a bunch of them, none of them lasting more than 6 months. He considers saving the world from the demon hordes to be a blast, when everyone around him finds it either terrifying or tedious. Always the first to jump into danger, and the last one to leave, "I have a plan" are said to be the four most dangerous words in his vocabulary. His speech is littered with hyperbole, using it often to embellish his adventures (and penis size) to cartoonish levels.
Everything about him is so over the top, that many fail to realize that behind the merciless teasing of his best friend, John is a loyal friend who always sticks to his word. The dying wish of a man he had only just met, which was to watch over his sister, was fulfilled until the girl left for college. Which was no easy task, considering that the girl was missing her left hand and never left her house. John's compassion is well-hidden, but most certainly there. He never referred to her as everyone else knew her, as "the girl with the missing hand," she was always just Amy. He sees life with an outlook that is positive to the point of foolishness, and seems to think, even while the world is ending, that he is invincible.
Why should they be a camp counselor? John's in-between jobs often, and really, it's just to earn himself some cash doing something fun. But he is, actually, semi-qualified. He's very experienced in dealing with magical creatures, athletic, and can entertain as a musician. A terrible one, but still.
One roleplay sample: The band's gonna be pissed when they find out I went to Iowa to help at a summer camp. If they change the name without me again, someone's getting their ass kicked.
But I think this is gonna be great. I mean, they're paying me to hang out in the sun all day and hang out with a bunch of British kids. Make sure they follow rules, and don't hurt themselves, and stuff. And that's easy, right? I mean, British kids are supposed to be too busy reading and drinking tea to misbehave. I bet they all have that funny accent, too.
Yeah. It'll be great. I'll teach them about American things, like cheeseburgers and fun.
