Background (AU!Canon; HP): Tanaka was one of many children, hell even one of many boys, from a no-name wizarding family. While his siblings were content to remain no names in the world, Tanaka wasn’t content with that. He must be someone important! Hell, he knew he was better than all those plebeians anyway. So he tried his hardest, or rather he looked like he tried his hardest in wizarding school. Then he went into the working world, where eventually all the sucking up he did paid off. Subsequently he got a job at the ministry of magic, as a PR(public relations) person. Convincing people that everything was ‘okay’ even when it really wasn’t, was something he was good in. Or good enough, anyway. Though as always, Tanaka isn’t happy to stay in his current position, he wants more. This PR job is only one step closer to the Ministry of Magic! , he has been known to occasionally stick his nose into other offices at the ministry, with his lectures and quips.
On the side, he runs his own little personal business-selling magical trinkets that don’t work at all for a hefty fee. Tanaka has the PR job for the job advancement and the exposure, his magical trinket business is really where he rakes in the dough. As the PR person for the Ministry of Magic, he often confronts and is forced to console those who are worried. What better way to ease your sorrows, than with a magical bottle of ‘Death Eater’ begone!
What do they do at the Ministry?: As stated in the AU! History, he works as a public relations person in the Ministry of Magic. So he will assure the students and staff, that everything Is absolutely positively fine!
Oh, and he’ll try to sell people stuff to calm their fears, lose weight, get a lover, really his trinkets can cure anything. Useless, useless, stuff.

Sample Interaction Post in First Person:
Dear Diary
What a busy day! Of course, that is to be expected with my celebrity status and all. All the many people who need my help and consoling but luckily for them they had the honor to be in my presence! I should charge by the hour, on top of the salary I get paid! Even the Minister seemed in high spirits today, with the way I dealt with the current Death Eater situation. As for the complaints well, he just won’t learn about that. They’ll learn to be quiet, if they know what’s good for them-even the ones who sent the howlers.
For now, I am going to retire in a lovely lavender scented bath. I enjoy nothing but relaxation, and money. Lots, and lots of money.

Sample Interaction Post in Third Person: Tanaka grinned. He had in his clutches another naïve soul. A chubby schoolgirl. Sure she had come to him worried about the influx of Death Eater attacks, but he would quell those fears-all while making a cheap buck. It was obvious to him that she couldn’t get some, who wanted a fat girl! It was all out being thin, anorexically thin, with big breasts! That was beauty nowadays. Just thinking of a woman like that made Tanaka excited, but for now he must be focused on his salespitch!
“ I understand your fears, Miss.” He said as he cut into her worried blabbering , with a wide smile. “But really, there is nothing to worry about, at all. Why, by next week the Death Eaters may be gone from existence! You won’t even know they existed! You’ll be saying ‘Death Eater who?’ Instead of worrying about Death Eaters, why don’t you focus on more pleasant matters…such as winning the prince of your dreams! Lucky for you, I have a love potion right here, a secret recipe that makes the imbiber thin, beautiful, and capable of wooing any man! Though with your beauty, surely you would only need a drop.” Tanaka said, winking.
The girl blushed. “I’ll take one!”
Why should this character be accepted for a ministry position?: [For the LULZ need not apply] FOR THE LULZ! Hahah, jk. But seriously, Tanaka would be amusing to see in action. He’s pretty much fail at actually doing his job, but he’s definitely the man to look for when you need lying to be done! And as in all governments, the ministry needs plenty of that. All the corrupt things you need done? He’ll do em, as long as you pay him! He could also serve as comic relief, to break up the serious characters in the ministry, and to brighten up everyone’s day! …Even if the brightness comes in the form of a lightbulb that doesn’t work, at all.
But that’s just Tanaka’s style.

After careful deliberation we feel that while your application is up to standard for the position, we are going with a different character than yours. It was a very hard decision for us to make as moderators as we want to give all players a chance at a position, but you're free to apply again in a teacher's position in the normal apps if you wish to. If you want to discuss this with us for any reason, you are encouraged to do so.

I actually had another character I was thinking about apping for the ministry spot, but I was afraid his personality would mirror someone's who's already in the ministry.
