Title: Love is to share
Fandom: seaQuest
Characters/Pairing: Katie/Ben
Rating: PG 13
Summary: “I don’t want to be like him, the guy in the movie. I don’t want to spend my whole life alone only to figure out at the end, that I rather spend it with the people I love and care.”
Author's notes: Eddie Vedder is the God! And 'Into the Wild' is propably one of the most amazing movies ever! Stay still my Kerouac heart! This take place to my soon-going-to-write fic, Come Tomorrow.
“What’s wrong? Why are you crying? Did something hap-did you had another nightmare? Is it your leg?”
He looked (and acted) like a crazy man; hair all messy from the bed, a tee that had seen better days and he was wearing a red sock.
“Why you are wearing one sock?”
“Why are you crying?” He asked again sitting next to her. His move was gently, he didn’t want to scare her. Half a year ago scarring her would have been a bad joke but she wasn’t the woman of half a year ago. And he knew that he wasn’t the same man either.
“Oh, um,” she pointed to the TV.
“A movie? You were crying for, you know, a movie?”
“It wasn’t the movie. It was the meaning of the movie.”
Sitting a little closer to her he asked, “And?”
She looked dumb at him. “The meaning?” He asked.
“Love is to share.”
“Love is to share,” he repeated.
“It made me think about,” she frowned, “everything I guess. And I don’t want to…”
“You don’t want to what? Be alone?”
“I don’t want to be like him, the guy in the movie. I don’t want to spend my whole life alone only to figure out at the end, that I rather spend it with the people I love and care.”
“You won’t.”
“How you know?”
“We are sharing the shame roof, we are sharing this moment now and yesterday you shared your dessert with me.”
“I couldn’t help it, you didn’t even ask me,” she said wiping her face.
“I was afraid you would say ‘no’ and you know how much I like apple pie,” he teased her but when he didn’t get the smile he was aiming for, he took her hand to his.
“What about a deal? I won’t let you be that guy and you won’t let me be that guy, okay?”
“Okay,” but she didn’t sound convinced (?).
“Okay?” More loud and a smile crosses her lips.
“Okay, you have yourself a deal.”
“Good, now go to bed, it’s almost four in the morning,” he said standing up.
“Yes dad!” She said and Ben could almost hear her rolling her eyes. She was as bas as Lucas these days.
Then an idea hit him. “Kate?”
“Mmm?”
“Want to go for a ride?”
