Henry nods, takes the comic book he’s reading and finds a spot at the bed. His mom has her eyes open and he waves at her. “Hey mom, I thought you were sleeping.”
She continues to stare at him with unblinking eyes and Henry starts to feel uncomfortable. He puts the comic book down, moves closer to her, his hand touching her leg now and she still has the same distant look. His voice is small, scared, when he calls her, “Mom?”
She blinks then as if she’s waking up from a deep sleep and Henry can breathe again.
“You are going to be okay,” he says wiping the sweat from her forehead as she has done to him many times in the past and frowns when he feels how warm she is. “But you need to take your meds even if you don’t like the taste, and you need to eat something, mom. Okay? You can’t get well if you’re not eating. You need strength. Okay?”
He’s not sure if she’s hearing him, but he finds the cloth Emma uses and runs to the kitchen to wet it with cold water. When he returns she’s still watching him, her eyes are a little cleaner, her more alert. He can’t tell for sure, but he thinks she’s smiling at him. “I’m going to make you chicken soup. Grandpa is going to help me because Emma doesn’t cook and grandma doesn’t feel well like you. But she’s eating her food and you’ll eat my chicken soup, don’t you, mom?”
He feels like crying when she closes her eyes without a respond.
Snow feels like she’s trapped to the room again with flames inches away from her body, but she opens her eyes to see with relief the familiar walls of her bedroom.
Regina!
She throws the covers and runs downstairs, passing a crying Henry at the top of the stairs. Dr. Whale is there, talking with Emma, and Snow joins them.
“Where’s David?” She asks and is interrupted from a knock at the door. Emma opens the door and Ruby comes inside holding packs of ice.
“I got as many as I could,” she says to Whale and he nods.
“What’s going on? Where’s David?” She asks Emma when Whale follows Ruby upstairs.
“He’s getting the bathtub ready. How are you feeling?”
“Like I’m drowning in a sea of fire,” Emma chokes a cry and Snow hugs her. “It’s going to be okay.”
There is more and I'm going to post it after I finish cooking and cleaning 'cause Easter :P
And I hate you. How dare you talk about rain when the sun here is burning? I...I have no words. I only have faith. Faith that this summer will be a mild one.
Oh I just finished coloring eggs for Easter :) What I have to say...Keep the faith! :) Oh and yes you know it seems thunderstorm is starting heh, I can hear the peals of thunder :P
Regina doesn’t want to get out of the heavy covers.
“Cold, it’s cold.” Her voice is barely a whisper, her cheeks red with fever, but the rest of her skin has an unnatural pale color. Her eyelids are heavy with fever and chills rock her body. She was calling Daniel before and even if Emma doesn’t know much about Daniel, it was David’s clue to call Whale.
One look at her temperature and he ordered them to fill the tub with warm water and, just in case, have Ruby bring as many ice packs as she can.
“You sure? You’re pretty hot from where I stand.” Emma half expects a snarky remark and prays for one actually, but it never comes.
Regina shakes her head again. “I’m cold.”
Emma isn’t surprised to hear that; Whale warned them about that, but both Emma and David where worried about Snow to pay really attention to the brunette, and Henry’s just a kid. When he found out that Regina was having a whole conversation with an imaginary friend he was thrilled and even had some fun. It was only when he told Emma that he realized that his mom was really sick.
She helps Regina to move into a sitting position and frowns from how light the other woman feels; she can practically carry her like a doll if she wants it. “A bath will make you feel better,” she says when Regina complains that she wants to go back to bed and under the covers.
Regina can’t stand without the support of the sheriff and since Snow looks like she’s going to pass out any minute now, Emma calls Ruby. Ruby gives Emma one second before taking Regina to her arms with ease.
“It’s a wolf thing,” she winks at Emma and pretends not to hear Regina’s weakly protests.
“She’s not going to like it.” Whale informs Emma and Ruby. David has gone down to help Snow and keep Henry out of the way. “But if we don’t do this I’m not sure she’ll make it to the hospital. I called them and they are expecting us.”
“Wolf thing,” Ruby says and Whale stares at her with a blank.
“I didn’t think of that. I still think of you us Ruby, the waitress. We’re here now so lower her down, slowly.”
When the water comes in contact with Regina’s skin she screams.
David has little time to catch Snow before she hits the floor.
Henry doesn’t understand what’s happening; he looks David with horror in his eyes and David puts gently Snow on the bed before turning his attention to the boy. Snow will be okay since Whale is with Regina and Emma knows that everything that happens to the Queen, Snow feels it; she’s not going to let her mother die.
“What’s happening? Why she’s screaming?” Henry asks with tears running down his cheeks and David can only hug the boy and offer him words of comfort.
“It’s okay, Henry. Everything’s going to be okay.”
At the end, they have to take Regina to the hospital and wake the Blue Fairy.
“Hey mom,” Henry’s breath is hot to her ear, but she’s too tired to do anything but keep her eyes open. She’s still in the hospital, still in and out of conscience, still feeling every muscle ache.
Her magic is weak, but she can feel the energy inside her body; it’s slowly building inside of her.
“Hey Henry,” she licks her lips and watch him smile.
She has a long road in front of her, but she has her son.
“Hey kid,” Emma says from the door, grinning, throwing a chocolate bar at him and she turns and winks at Regina. “Don’t tell your mom, okay?”

It fits today's weather, it's raining. And one thing I want to do is to sit here with a cup of tea and read fanfics

And if Regina had the energy to smile she would.
Because maybe she has more than just her son.
And she’s fine with it.
