“You’re kidding me!” Dinah tried to keep her voice to an acceptable level but with no luck. She ignored the dirty looks of the by standers and looked at the redhead with eyes that meant serious busyness.
“You don’t know,” Helena shook her head, speaking to Barbara, then she turned her attention to Dinah. “She doesn’t know. She can’t know.” And back to Barbara, “You can’t know!”
“Of course she doesn’t know, Helena.” Dinah took a sip from her wine. It wasn’t possible…then again…No. It wasn’t possible! It just wasn’t. “She’s just…messing with us. Aren’t you Babs?”
Barbara stared at them for a very long time and it was crystal clear even to Zinda that the redhead was enjoying this. “No. I really do know.”
“Bullshit,” Helena said standing up. “I’m going to the bar since it’s my turn to buy drinks and when I'll come back this conversation better be over.”
When Helena was out of reach Zinda asked, “What’s so wrong if Skipper knows?”
“She just can’t, okay? She can’t. No one knows. That’s the whole concept of the show. She can not know whom Ted Mosby married too. I’m going to the ladies room and when I’m back, well, you heard her,” Dinah pointed to the bar, “This conversation better be over.”
Zinda watched the Canary walk away when she felt eyes on her. Slowly she turned her head; the Skipper was staring at her.
“I so totally know.”
