About BoP #10 and other comic news

Mar 15, 2011 14:15

"Some very interesting developments are happening in Bop, that I can't talk about at ALL, yet. And yeah, Babs is being a little scary. ;)"

Gail Simone at the CBR Forum.

Of course Babs is scary. She's building the new Internet. Imagine if Mark Zuckerberg decided to take Facebook down; 500 millions users would throw a fit and, let's face it, few of them would think it's the end of the world as we know it.

She also said that Cass was original one of the three heroes that asked for Oracle's help, but for some reason DC decided against it. "She was in the script right up until I sent it in for final proofing (not a huge role, but definitely in there...in fact, she was one of the three heroes Babs is watching on the monitors so she had some action and a bit of dialogue). It was meant to lead to a bigger role for her, and the hope of an eventual ongoing."

I miss Cass :(

On other news, Batman INC #8 will probably be the only Batman INC issue I'll read after #1. Except if it's a two part story then I'll read #9 as well.

BATMAN INCORPORATED #8

When Waynetech’s launch of Interworld is plagued by a series of “virtual murders,” Batman teams up with Oracle to hunt down the culprit in a simulated environment that’s slowly collapsing into post-apocalyptic zombie-haunted chaos. A computer-generated Batman adventure that brings Dark Knight justice to a wild new frontier, to face a new and virulent menace. In a world of numbers, does everything have a price?

A computer-generated Batman? In my world we like to call it Tron!Batman, thank you very much :P

Hey guys, guess who's coming for dinner :P

BATMAN AND ROBIN #24

The Red Hood is out! But the bigger mystery is who broke him out of prison - and why? His liberators seem to have plans for him. Plans that Jason wants no part of. It’s a street brawl, and unlikely allies come together! Batman, Robin and The Red Hood must fight alongside one another in a knockdown, drag-out battle, taking on the people who sprung Jason Todd.

BIRDS OF PREY #13

Things get ugly as The Birds of Prey are trapped in a cunning puzzle box of a skyscraper, pursued by a nightmarish killer who holds all the cards, leaving only the Huntress, the reluctant aide of Renee Montoya, and The Question to free them! And what effect does the death of Oracle have on the team as they race to escape from hell?

I kinda hate the fact that there is a chance that Babs will not be a big part of BoP 'cause she's going to be a ghost in the shell machine from now on. One reason I don't enjoy the new BoP is because of the lack of interaction between the characters. Where is my Dinah/Babs scenes, DC? It's too much to ask for a single dinner scene? We got one reunion page and that's all?

BoP was always about bonding, that's what made the title so special to a lot of readers not the constant action. If I want action I'll buy Avengers or Titans or something. Um...just a warning but don't buy Titans. You don't want to, trust me.
