lol.

Poor Babs.

I don't know why she didn't take a dip in the Lazarus Pit in that BOP issue (cannot remember the number). It was the same one where Black Canary gets beaten really badly, after having refused to marry Ra's Al Ghul, and Babs throws her in the Pit. I think Dinah even asked her.

DC doesn't want her to walk. They had plans to make her Batwoman, but they had cold feet. They had plans to make her Batgirl (hence Oracle: The Cure), but they had cold feet again.

The things is (some) writers want her to walk so it's not only the fans. But I guess DC is afraid of the Batgirl myth. Thanks to TV and movies, the Batgirl most are familiar with is the redhead one.

And then fans are saying that if Babs ever walk again and goes back as Batgirl (I want her to walk, but I want her to stay Oracle) it will be a step back.

But no one says the same for Dick. I mean, from day one we knew that Dick was going to be Nightwing again once Bruce was back from...ah, time?

If Tim was Nightwing and not Red Robin, I think that a lot would say that Dick going back to Nightwing is a step back. But right now no one or very few are saying that.

I agree with most of what you said. I will add that I think Babs really came into her own as a character as Oracle, so I do agree that returing to Batgirl might be a step back. I don't understand why they're chickening out, because if fans want it, they're the ones buying the books, so should their opinion matter?

And about Dick, well Grant Morrison said he will remain as Batman. Apparently Bruce is going to franchise Batman into Batman Inc.

Yeah, they will have more than one Batmen...for a while. Then Bruce will be Batman and Dick will go back to be Nightwing.

I don't really agree with fans that say that if she walks and be Batgirl she will be a step back. Personally I don't want to see that, but she's just going to walk guys, not go back to time. She's not Booster Gold...or Bruce :P

Silver age is long gone. Even if she heals now, the stories are darker and the writers know that. Except Miller (Batgil). He didn't get the memo yet.

My point is, even if she goes back to Batgirl she's not going to be silver age Batgirl. She's going to be Babrara Gordon, mastermind, manipulate, tactic genious, wity Babs we all know and love.

Really? Dick will go back to being Nightwing? I didn't know that.

Hmm. Maybe. But I like Steph as Batgirl. So I guess my opinion is biased. lol.

But I do agree, Babs is Babs, she won't change by being Batgirl.

That's the idea. But if it works out (if it brings money to the company) they might stick with it.

I don't like the new Batgirl book for so many reason, but Steph is not one of them. I find her character 'meh' most of the times. But again that's not the reason of why I don't like the new Batgirl title.

Yes. Babs is Babs no matter what :D

There wasn't time for both of them; the place was collapsing around them. Dinah asked Barbara to go in, instead of saving her, and Barbara flatly refused.
