Well in my rush to write the last entry, i wrote that i went cave diving. What i actually meant to say is that i went swimming in a cave... It was cold. Since New Years, i travelled back to Manila and partied a last night with my brother who is now back in Geneva. Then went to Cebu City and ate at a place called Sutukil which had incredible sea food. Umm... the philippines are famous for few things. Among these things are the beautiful and shy women, the invention of the yo-yo and... can you guess???
We killed Magellan! That's right, a chief named Lapu-Lapu killed Magellan who 'discovered' the philippines around 1580 or so. To commemorate the occasion, there is a giant statue of a buff Lapu-Lapu, looking out to sea with a sword and shield. He's not really wearing much in the way of clothing... and his bum is dutifully defined.
So from Cebu we went to Bohol to see the chocolate hills.
http://www.pahof.de/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_7154/ww-P~chocolate~hills.jpg. I just found this on a quick search, but the choco hills are pretty cool, you should look for other pictures. And while there we stayed at this place called the Bohol Bee Farm. It is an organic farm that has bees and grows all the food that they have on their menu. They also sell honey and other products like jewelry and shirts and textiles that is all made by the girls on the farm. It is beautiful there, with a beach and i went snorkelling and looked at all the colourful fish... and it is so well designed... boholbeefarm.com... and and and and and and and and the girls are pretty and cute and love me and call me sir christian and and and and and and and and and.... Oh as a side note, in elementary school i used to sign my papers as sir christian as inspired by my hero calvin from c+h who signed his papers with funny names (people in the philippines love calling me sir)and and and and the woman who runs the place is truly wonderful, has employed around 70 people who she sends to school and teaches how to cook and farm and make clothing and jewelry and and and and and and it is beautiful and relaxed and warm and its on a beach and there is a farm and beautiful girls and bee hives and people who are dedicated to growing food and making everything from scratch and there are builders who have designed a gorgeous gorgeous resort and and and and and I got a job there! Clap clap clap. Oh, they also have professional masseuses there.
But I got hired based on my energy and education and ideas. I'm wanted as something of an 'ideas' person which i'm not really sure about so i bought some books while back in manila about growing mushrooms and tropical medicinal plants that i've been researching quite thoroughly... I'm not being paid but i get room and board and get to live in paradise and learn a lot of things i've been dying to dedicate myself to but haven't really had the proper environment. I want to learn carpentry (mostly framing) and rudimentary farming and better my tagalog and add to the atmosphere. So i start on Jan 15th and until then i'm in manila hanging out with my great cousin Meann who is really fun and likes to clap her hands and say 'Correct!' But she doesn't call me sir. I wrote two songs this morning! Good songs though I think one of them might be a rip off of a belle and Sebastian song. I'm not really sure why i think that... but its kind of a wuss rock song and has a vibe that reminds me of b+s and i can't shake the feeling that the tune is familiar. I guess i'll find out later. Its weird... when i write a song and sing it over and over it becomes familiar and then I wonder if someone else wrote it already. Take care,
