I came out to my Dad today.
No, I didn't tell him I'm asexual. He already knows that.
No, today, after spending the last few weeks wearing hijab that covers more and more of my hair and neck, and on a more regular basis, I finally stepped up and talked with Dad about it. I explained that while I'm interested in learning more about Islam, I've started covering mainly because my body is my own business, and it's not on display, and that dressing modestly and covering my hair puts ME back in charge of the way my body is viewed.
He took it like a champ. My Dad's the best. ^_^ He was way cool about it, and agreed that it's a good way of staying in control of one's body. I'd already told my stepmom my reasons, too.
So, that went well, and I thought I'd share. ^_^
I also made a pair of jeans into a skirt, and I'll post pics later. Off to NaNo some more!
