(no subject)
Interrupting my V-Day fic marathon for a RL update.
When I went to see my doctor, yesterday, my mom&I ended up waiting for about an hour before we were sent in to see a different nurse and doctor than I'm used to. I'm uncomfortable enough at my doctors office, being interviewed by a woman I see maybe every six months, but now I had to talk to a male nurse. He was, of course, nice enough to remind me that since I am a minor, I need to be weighed. He saw my face, laughed and said, "Don't worry, I'll still weigh more than you!" At least I lost six pounds!...egh.
So the *new* doc comes in, wearing a facemask. Because I wasn't concerned enough that I was having a mono relapse, or I got a strep/infection combo...I almost laughed whenI saw him, expecting him to take it off and joke and generally try to buddy up to me, but he was serious. My mom asked him about it and he said he didn't want to get what I had.
They did a throat culture, and when it came back negative, he told me I had the flu, and I should take antibiotics and about a week off from work/school/whatever. I asked if I was contagious, and he said yes, and now I'm lodaded up on guilt because I was working in the INFANT ROOM. Holding, feeding, and changing daipers! (I am required to wear gloves, but STILL.) I told my mom my worries and she told me to chill out, and that I probably got it from working in a day care anyway.
So I probably won't go back to work unil tuesday, at the latest, and since I don't have any of my school stuff, I don't have to worry about make-up work either. I'm gonna have to be careful about who I come in contact with until weds. but I'm not to worried.
But since I have all this free time I'll be updating that V-Day thing. Next up! Cy/Jinx
