***BREAKING NEWS** The new Deutsche Mark banknotes are here**Picture will follow tomorrow***
I'm working at the Deutsche Bank in Germany. Today we delivered 1 container with new Deutsche Mark notes and new coins. I will present a photo from the new banknotes tomorrow morning. The curencychange will be the night from Saturday to Sunday 5/16/2010. On Friday, 19.00 GMT Angela Merkel the germany chancelor, will speach to the german nation.
Обсуждение идёт второй день. Причём, что самое интересное, обсуждается вполне всерьёз, и сегодня дело дошло уже до сообщений "Блумберга" и "Рейтер":
THE TRUTH:
Talks about going back to the Deutsche Mark and out of the Euro are all over the media and even some leading politicians are already considering it between the lines. If and when this happens is unclear.
THE BACKGROUND;
The information about Germany leaving the Euro this weekend comes from Hartgeld.com, a site run by Mr. Eichelburg who is - put simple - crazy. He knows a lot about economy and gold but he is waiting for the apocalypse posting stuff on his website since I don't know when. It's a proven fact that this guy writes his own "insider" messages and reader commentaries, and if you have read the site for a while (like I did, because he used to have some actual useful information there) you would have noticed that and left stopped listening was about time. The whole Deutsche Mark rumour is just that, a rumour.
There is absolutlely no evidence for a new Deutsche Mark in written word or photography anywhere in Germany. And it's not like the government would have to keep it secret, the germans would not riot - they would party, everyone wants the Deutsche Mark back as it was a real currency compared to that toy money called the Euro. Would cancellor Merkel sit on TV and tell the people "You will get the DM back" she would be Queen of Germany.
There is no new Deutsche Mark, sadly. A strong german currency would actually help Europe, so how well does that go with hope for doom and stuff? Britain doesn't have the Euro and if France goes out of the Euro too you would have three most powerful countries in Europe not using the Euro anymore = end of Euro. Not gonna happen though.
Jim Rogers: The Euro Will Now Dissolve

From The Business Insider, May 12, 2010:
Jim Rogers thinks the European bailout put the 'nail in the coffin' for the euro:
Bloomberg:
“I was stunned,” Rogers, chairman of Rogers Holdings, said in a Bloomberg Television interview in Singapore. “This means that they’ve given up on the euro, they don’t particularly care if they have a sound currency, you have all these countries spending money they don’t have and it’s now going to continue.”
...
All paper currencies are being “debased,” with the euro currency union at risk of being “dissolved,” Rogers said, adding that he continues to own the dollar, the Swiss franc, the Japanese yen and the euro.
“It’s a political currency and nobody is minding the economics behind the necessities to have a strong currency,” Rogers said. “I’m afraid it’s going to dissolve. They’re throwing more money at the problem and it’s going to make things worse down the road.”
