Tenth Deduction [Accidental Voice/Action for Housemates]

Jul 19, 2011 18:58

[Conan tosses and turns restlessly in his sleep, obviously struggling against a bad dream. All of a sudden he bolts straight up with a half-strangled scream and falls out of bed.  He doesn't even notice his hand knocking his communicator onto the floor.]

RAN!

[He looks around frantically for a moment, then slumps back to the ground.]

Just a dream, is ( Read more... )

[Voice] ... because I've been patient long enough? kurobakaitoukid July 22 2011, 23:39:43 UTC
[Do you see the frequency there, Conan. It's not Kaito's. If you're familiar with the guy at all, it's Jack Hyland's. But the voice over the comms is clearly not Jack's.

You recognize the voice, Conan. You know you do.]

Trouble sleeping, Tantei-kun?

And Conan's day just got so much worse. Why can't anyone just let him brood in peace? modernholmes July 23 2011, 00:09:41 UTC
So you've decided to make an appearance.

You know you love it, Conan. kurobakaitoukid July 23 2011, 00:12:53 UTC
And you have decided to avoid the question. But I can humor you, I suppose.

Were you expecting me, dear detective?

Why should he want the attention of an annoying thief? modernholmes July 23 2011, 00:17:19 UTC
Such an obvious question doesn't deserve an answer.

I had my suspicions of your presence here.

Because that way when you're thrown out of a zepplin, you don't DIE. kurobakaitoukid July 23 2011, 00:21:30 UTC
Unless of course if it was intended more as an observation on my part, and an invitation to elaborate on your part

Really. [Clicks his tongue, almost disapprovingly.] Detectives, you lot are never not suspicious.

Any points he got for that were lost when he tried to kiss Ran. modernholmes July 23 2011, 00:48:03 UTC
An invitation I have no intention of taking.

It's part of the job.

Honestly, he's trying to HELP you two crazy kids. kurobakaitoukid July 23 2011, 00:54:37 UTC
Tch, how typical. Even after everything that we've been through together, Tantei-kun, you still insist on behaving like some unwilling bride at an Omiai arranged by her parents.

And does it necessarily qualify as a job, when you receive no income from it? Or is perhaps "obsession" a far more appropriate term?

If he had his way Shinichi would be trying to take care of everything by himself modernholmes July 23 2011, 01:35:23 UTC
And you're still as obnoxious as always. [was that comparison really necessary?]

Should a thief who never keeps anything he takes be asking that question?

He's not doing a very good job of it, okay. kurobakaitoukid July 23 2011, 01:42:07 UTC
[Yes. Yes it was, Conan.]

I don't believe I ever claimed or implied that stealing was my job, Tantei-kun.

He never does. Its a miracle he hasn't been hospitalised more often. modernholmes July 23 2011, 14:03:07 UTC
Obsession, then. You put far too much effort into it for you to consider it only a hobby.

It's amazing they're not all dead, to be frank. kurobakaitoukid July 23 2011, 16:37:53 UTC
Hmmmmmm~? Is it? I wonder.

No kidding. Soccerballs and cards vs. sniper rifles and bombs. modernholmes July 23 2011, 23:07:26 UTC
You're as cryptic as always.

They're amazing, really. Amazing. kurobakaitoukid July 24 2011, 05:24:13 UTC
Are obsession or hobby really the only two possibilities you can think of, Tantei-kun?

Reply

And completely insane. modernholmes July 24 2011, 14:27:56 UTC
Obviously not. You have a motive, and it is not something so simple as that.

Reply

Even better. kurobakaitoukid July 24 2011, 16:11:38 UTC
You always were such a smart kid~
