Sixth Deduction [Voice;backdated to May 7]

May 10, 2011 17:52

I was told once that no one here cared about law enforcement or justice.  Regardless, I need to speak to whoever considers themselves in charge of such a thing.  I have a murder to report.

[Locked to Hattori 60%]
Hattori, meet me at Marshall.  I'm at the crime scene.
[Locked]

[Not fashionably late this time.]

I'm here, Kudo.

[He'll be inspecting the blood surrounding the body of a boy not much older than he appears to be. He doesn't look up, but he speaks in a flat voice as Hattori enters the room.]

The victim's name is Robin Duval. Time of death was approximately twenty minutes ago. Cause of death was most likely exsanguination through these wounds on his neck and arm.

[That kid.

He glanced at the message.]

You don't suppose this Tatsumi guy might be the prime suspect do you? [Despite the vigorous message, it was far too suspicious.]

There is a high possibility. Something seemed strange about his facial expressions while he was writing. A strange reluctance that didn't match the urgency of his hand's movements.

[He still hasn't turned to look away from the body.]

I noticed that when I was tellin' him ta stop. [He didn't. He couldn't.]

Alien Hand Syndrome is likely.

There is also the possibility that the attacker threatened him. He kept writing until the moment of his death.

I consider that too - [but what would the threat be? There was no way he could have survived if he didn't seek medical attention. He would have died either way.]

How well did ya know him?

I spoke to him several times. Both here and in the other Discedo. Like I said, his name was Robin. He was mute and communicated primarily through the text function of the communicators and writing in a notebook. Apart from that he seemed like a normal boy. Quiet. Thoughtful. He was interested in detective work.

I checked for cameras and listening devices already. If it was a threat, the culprit didn't bother monitoring him.

But if th' culprit threatened him, it could'a been harmin' a close friend. Then he wouldn't hafta monitor him, an' Robin wouldn't have any idea if he was tellin' th' truth or not.

He was close friends with another child named Luke. He never mentioned who his guardians were here.

An' th' wounds. The culprit is tryin' ta mimic a vampire by th' looks of it. Most th' people here prol'ly fell fer it.

Aaa, from the detail in the wounds, this was obviously a deliberate attempt to mimic such a story. It would reinforce the popular belief of monsters in the city.

That seems ta be th' case. We should figger out who this Tastumi guy is. It's our best lead.

I haven't heard that name before. Our best bet is checking with some of the long-time residents.
