(no subject)
So, yesterday was good. I had a nice day...until the end, but that doesn't matter. The good outweighs the bad.
I got off work yesterday morning 'round 7. Went home. Chillaxed for an hour or two, playing my guitar. I decided to go shoe shopping. I drove over to Dogwood when i decided to stop by borders book store to look for some cds i needed. I found 2 cds. No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom album and Tegan and Sara's The Con. Both wonderful, fun albums. After i found them i started to go straight to the front to pay, but i hesitated. In the back of my head i heard this nagging voice saying ,"Look through the movies for Plan 9 from outer space." So, i looked, as i have looked before and never found. Today was the day. I found the Ed Wood box set. The movies in this set are as follows: Glen or Glenda, Jail Bait, Bride of the Monster, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Night of the Ghouls, and The Haunted World of Edward D. Wood, Jr.
So, i purchased my items, mentioning to the clerk that i'd originally came to town to get shoes, but spent most of my money there instead, leaving me wih not much left for shoes. He said, "Go to Kohl's. They have good prices on shoes."
"Really?" i said, not really paying attention.
"Yeah." he said, plopping his foot on the counter. "I got these there for ten dollars."
"Wow," i mutter as i glance to see if anybody is looking at the nut with his foot on the counter.
"Yeah, you can't beat a deal like that."
So, I left Border's and took the crazy person's advice. I went to Kohl's found two pairs of shoes that i liked. One box said 31 dollars, one said 17 dollars. I had about $40 left. I took the first pair to the register. They rang up $12. I told the cashier to wait one second so i could go get the other shoes, too. I love it when that happens. Very pleased with myself, I left Kohl's to go to the mall for window shopping.
I decided to stop by Starbucks in the mall. When i walked in i was stunned to see three beautiful gals(each a ten) working there, two behind the counter and one sitting at the bar taking a break. The one on break caught my attention the most. I ordered my usual drink and walked to the end of the bar to wait. A tall, leggy amazon princess walked in.(Another ten) She ordered, then stood next to me. It was strange, but cool. She was actually about a foot taller than i am. Intimidation set in. I couldn't think of anything to say other than,"Hi." Then, the girl behind the counter said, "Here is your double tall mocha."
I said, "thanks," and took my beverage.
Then the one that was on her break said something like, "Are you doubly tall?" I looked over to see that she was talking to me. Then i noticed that they all were looking at me. It felt like i was being watched by everybody on earth.
Then i said, "No, I'm actually kind of short for my height." Apparently it was funny, because they all gave a cute laugh. Then the girl on break smiled at me. It was a sweet smile, not a forced or phony smile. I smiled and told them all to have a nice day. I walked away. My first thought was to ask "girl on break" for her phone number. However, I didn't want to overstay the humor. I made a good impression and left it at that. They were still giggling a bit when i walked out, which gave me the impression that they were going to talk about me after i was gone. Hopefully, they said good things. When i get the chance i may go back to ask "girl on break" out.
I feel awesome, like Han Solo.
Later, i went to visit my mom and brother. On the way home from my visit, my car died. It took about ten minutes to get it started again. Even with that kind of ending, i rate it as a good day.
Just thought i'd share.
