Twenty-Eight Cardinals
On the evening of October 6th, various unpleasant noises of struggle and commotion were reported around town, and later that night, the bodies of four males and one female were discovered. Three of the bodies were uncovered in different alleys along the east side of the City, and the final was found not very far from Building #3. All were in various states of dismemberment; limbs torn savagely off, internal organs ripped out, and eyes gouged. The murder weapon is believed to be a simple dagger or some sort of small knife, but there is also evidence to suggest that some wounds were inflicted by bare hands. Due to the placement of the bodies and causes of death, it is possible that these murders were inflicted by two or more persons.
Then, earlier this morning between the hours of four and five, a glass box of crimson color was found on the doorsteps of a shop inside the City. The box was mildly heavy and contained inside were the liquefied, pulpy remains of what was believed to be the shop's proprietor. A note was found on the box with the message "74 kgs", which is about how much the box weighs, and also the supposed weight of the victim. The remains are relatively fresh, suggesting the victim was killed possibly only hours before, perhaps less. Witnesses around the area have reported the figure of a person of indeterminable gender clad in the uniform of a deliveryperson who was found at the scene of the crime around the time the box was found. It is also worth mentioning that blood, possibly that of the victim's, was discovered in an alleyway not very far from the victim's shop.
Whether or not these murders are linked is entirely up for debate, though it is unlikely given the different methods of death. A collaborative investigation is needed, surely.
On the first night of our recent curse, five civilians were found dead; four in back streets near the east of the City, and one close to Building #3. This morning, the remains of a shopkeeper were discovered outside his own shop contained in a small container. An investigation is currently in progress.
Any information pertaining to these gristly homicides would be greatly appreciated for any further inspections that will be conducted. I would also strongly advise staying clear from any side streets and alleyways this night for your own safety.
