Rant about Tsuna forums

Jun 26, 2010 01:41

Okay, as I've stated before, I've become addicted to Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
This means that I've been into manga forums about it.

Some people come up with amazing theories, or are excellent debaters who make their point.
However, there are a particularly large amount of vermin who criticize my favorite charcter, Tsuna. (And no, it isn't because he's my favorite character that I'm agitated.)

These people tend to be repetitive.
I don't know how many rows of "Tsuna is so damn annoying with all that screaming! He's a crybaby and a coward. Not to mention an idiot who doesn't try. And why is he still refusing the title of Decimo? He should just accept it already!" I have had to go through to get to the criticisms that actually are either original or at least give viable reasons for this opinion.
At least, the type above ^ can just be written off as idiots who can't think outside of the box or stop following the trend.

The ones not repeating the same thing over and over again are the ones that actually infuriate me.
Those who actually write something worth my time seem to be the ones who have the potential to see things differently, but ignore it in favor of using their brains to support something that is hypocritical.

So many people seem to see Tsuna as this kid who takes pathetic to a whole new level. While this may be somewhat believable, due to past events, it is by no means true.
Pathetic is not being willing to die, so that you're friends are safe. Pathetic is not being willing to fight someone bigger and stronger than you because you can't stand the way they go about things. Pathetic is not forcing yourself to fight for people you just met. Pathetic is not feeling sympathy or showing mercy to people who wronged you and instead feeling satisfaction at their suffering or punishment. Pathetic is not refusing to be something (Ex: a hero) that you aren't.
Pathetic is seeing the truth of what anybody's real reaction would be, and denying or criticizing it because you have some romanticized version of yourself that would react like most cliche protagonists would.

Tsuna reacts how any human being would react to most of the things he has to deal with, but not enough get that because they don't like the truth and would rather believe that when the time comes, they'll do everything the right way, and won't run away.
Tsuna shows us the true human nature, although a much kinder one, and a lot of people refuse to believe that's the real thing because they'd be much happier having a nicer opinion of themselves than that.

That is pathetic.

P.S. I'm half-way through writing two one-shots for KHR that I'll post here. 1827 and 6927 FTW!
