"Not for that, I'm not."

"Not for that... do you even hear yourself sometimes?" Mike Ross, having sacrificed sleep and food to go over the recent fine print with an even finer fine-toothed comb, decided that, upon winning their court case, he needed to celebrate with a massive hotdog from the vendor outside of their ( Read more... )

Welcome! I don't blame Mike for being frightened of them!

My sister doesn't have nearly the experience with NYC that I have and the first time we went to the city, she saw the pigeons and was like "Oh, wow. Look at the...holy crap!" because one came after her. I think that's one of the things that made her swear she'd only go back if our favorite band was playing there.

I could totally see that xD Growing up there, I never notice them as much as my friends who come over from other places. :D

I spent at least a week there every summer from the time I was like...3? 4? Something like that until I was 15. Then lived there for almost a year when I was 18. And I still look at people when I take them in and am like really that's how you're going to react?!

My step-mother freaked out when my grandmother sent me to the store by myself when I was 14. My aunt was like "Um, she's been doing that since she was 11."

Which area did you grow up in? If you don't mind me asking.

Hahaha I can totally relate. I've lived in NYC my entire life, and then I went to college in a pretty quiet suburban affluent city outside of Philly. The first few months I couldn't stop speed-walking, locking my door, not letting any of my stuff out of my sight. My friends from little towns really got a kick out of it.

Of course not! I always love finding somebody from New York in the big bad internet lol. Born and bred in Brooklyn (and damn proud xD) What about you?

I've slowed down a bit with the speed walking--mostly because my asthmatic lungs can't take it.

Half my family is from Brooklyn! But I don't remember what area since they moved out before I was born. The other half is from the Bronx--which is the part I visited growing up. I lived on Statan Island which I know isn't really the city, but pretty close.

I'm pretty proud of my city roots too! I cling to my NY roots (I was born waaaay upstate--near the Canada border) even though I moved out almost half my life ago.
