Curtains in the Dining Nook Originally uploaded by
psymonetta. Here’s the whole nook, complete with the new drapes. This is what I like to call "stage two", since it's about 5 more stages away from Elle Decor caliber. If only I had the $$$$$ to just make things perfect in stage one.
The other two windows in the living room are treated with the same drapes and rods. The light fixture will be replaced with a drum pendant, and I’ll be sewing a cover for the bench cushion, along with some additional pillows.
The painting is a vintage oil pastel I found at Goodwill, and yes, it is hung far to high on an existing nail. It will either be hung correctly from the picture rail, or I’ll relocate it to the bedroom, above the built-in headboard we’re constructing (more at a later date). Behing the painting is a giant Yolo Colorhouse paint swatch in Stone 04, which we’re considering as a living room and bathroom paint color.
The table was chosen for its size and shape, not its beauty. I’m hoping that eventually Steve and I can design something fabulous involving lucite and salvaged wood with a scale similar to this table.
