Today's Entertainments

My mood earlier was horrible. I thought I'd have no entertainments but I've soldiered on and am feeling much better now :D

Poll Are you as smart as a 14 yr. old homeschooler?
Personally? I had no clue. I was pleased to see, however, that a MN boy won the national geography bee by answering that very question. (Mind you, he didn't have multiple choice options.) R-- tells me that the boy will now travel to Budapest for the international competition. He. Will. Travel. To. Budapest. And he won a $25,000 scholarship.

Why am I educating Ch-- within the public school system again?

I've been thinking about the meaning and purpose of my daily snapshot. (Notice that I do NOT say photograph? That's because I m still boggled by my digital camera and because I'm a lousy photographer.) Anyway, today I have snapped a representation of my day.

While still simmering over not being allowed to vacuum when I wanted to, I stomped upstairs and took a bath. Upon emerging from the tub, I had to admit that I felt much better. Then I had to admit that the bathroom was kind of a mess and the toilet, in particular, desperately needed my attention. I found the process of cleaning it oddly soothing and gratifying. (Probably because I'd been putting off such tasks for a while and I'd made them bigger than they really are. I mean it took less than 20 minutes to clean the whole bathroom.)

When I was done, I was surprised to realize that I found the "throne" beautiful, in its own way. It was then I decided to take its picture.

I prettied it up a little for its sitting. Did you know that tealight candles float?

Someone at bettie_page posted the following cocktail recipe but I think it can be improved upon ... and I'm just the ex-bartender to do it.

Ingredients:
1 oz sweet or dry Vermouth
1 oz Gin
1 tsp Cherry liqueur
1 Cherry

Mixing Instruction:
Mix the gin and vermouth like you would a normal martini.
Pour into cocktail glass and add cherry liqueur.
Garnish with cherry.

I will begin by calling it The Bettie Page Cocktail ...
Now I must research.
