A deer herd sighting & wanting everything to be nice.
Weather / Phenology:
Intermittent light rain mixed with brief periods of sunlight. The grass is growing amazingly fast. (I’ve got to figure out a lawnmower solution … again.)
While making dinner this evening, I caught motion in the meadow out of the corner of my eye. I focused and saw a HERD of deer playing just beyond the manger and Keeper’s grave. I called to Ch- and R- who each got a good view. The deer froze for a moment, looking in the direction of the house. (We think there were five.) At that moment, the neighbor pulled into his driveway and the herd bounded off toward the south-east. They were gorgeous!
Mood Summary:
I’m really tired right now. I meant to get more done tonight but I think I have to crash pretty darn soon. I need sunlight!! I’m dying for some physical intimacy with my beloved - we’ve been flirting off & on for days.
Main Accomplishments:
Called the school re: the play and the lock-in
Got through most of my routines (after a long hiatus)
Organized / refined my goals and worked up a better weekly check-in
Made shrimp spaghetti & bruschetta with fresh tomatoes for dinner
Picked up the whole house - prepped for dusting & floor on Tuesday
Cleaned the kitchen - and it’s clean again
Balanced checkbooks / sorted all bills
Sorted home & school paperwork
Five Gratitudes:
1) The deer (see phenology above)
2) The tulips R- had delivered to the house in honor of Mothers’ Day weekend
3) Bruschetta with fresh tomatoes
4) My vacuum-broom which makes sweeping the kitchen a snap
5) Making food with my husband
Exercise / Step Count:
Just cleaning but I worked up a sweat. I did do a sloppy sun salutation this afternoon - mostly to re-establish the habit after my period. Note: do not try to do lunges while wearing jeans.
