My Keeping Score Results:
This looks so much worse than it probably was. I’m sure I’m screwing myself by waiting to do scores until two and three days after the fact. I spent Friday morning dealing with Gmom’s doctor appointment. I had a long, truly productive visit with Sister D-. I met up with Mz K- and Lavender over a few beers before Mz D- came to join us. I went back to Lavender’s house for another couple of hours and got home by midnight.
R-, Ch- and I went out to breakfast on Saturday morning. In the early afternoon, I spent a couple of hours playing EE with my boy. (I expected to go to a dance with my husband, my daughter and my daughter’s boyfriend on Saturday night, but I’d mixed up some information so that won’t actually happen until next weekend.) Once we realized that the day stretched ahead, we opted to go into town to buy a fridge. (YAY!!) We ended up getting a small chest freezer too. The freezer will be delivered tomorrow but we have to wait until the first week of June to get the fridge. The three of us went out to Fuddrucker’s for dinner. I felt awfully tired when we got home so I wandered upstairs to take a nap. I woke at approximately one o’clock in the morning. I got up, read for a while, drained a full soda, smoked a couple of cigarettes and went back to bed.
I woke up at eight o’clock or so this morning. Today was an INCREDIBLY lazy day. R-and I lolled in bed until 10, watching some morning news shows and reading. Ch-spent the morning enjoying a new D&D computer game. I finished reading a book about the Green River Killer. Eventually we decided to go out to see Mission Impossible. (Fun movie but I OD’ed on too much “buttered” popcorn so my stomach went wonky about half-way through the movie and ended up sitting away from my menfolk so that I could make a quick exit if need be.) After the movie, we stopped to browse the bookstore a little. (We managed to get out of there without spending anything … ‘twas a miracle.) I bought some cat food and a few groceries before we headed home.
When I went to put the milk in the fridge, I found a custard pie from Baker’s Square!! My daughter had “broken into” the house while we were away. Apparently she used her Dad’s PC to make a Mother’s Day card and raided the dish rack to find a “vase” for a bouquet of dandelions, which she then left on the table. I felt terrible for missing her but it was a wonderful surprise. I think she enjoyed the sneaky process so it all worked out fine.
Now it’s a little after 11:00 and I’m going to pop Chinatown into the DVD player and crash out on the sofa. There’s so much real writing that should/could be done but I’m going to end this weekend now … in the hope that I wake tomorrow with some well-rested energy … and, with any luck, to some much needed sunshine and warmth. This period came and went fast but it took a lot out of me. I want to hit the house hard tomorrow. By the time Tuesday rolls around, I’d like to have put my life back together (again).
I started negotiating some housework issues with R- because … well because I’m considering writing a novel this summer. I’m thinking about setting a personal NaNoWrMo-like goal of 100,000 words (or a complete rough draft) this summer. I don’t know if I’d go after my Lizzy novel or start something entirely new. I don’t know when start-day would be … though I suppose my birthday would be a logical choice. (May 27th.) I don’t know what the end date would be either. In fact, there’s a lot I don’t know and the idea terrifies me. In any case, I have to put my house and gardens and critters on auto-pilot if I’m even tempted to try it.
I’ve been typing and deleting a bunch in these last minutes and it’s now close to midnight. Perhaps there will be more on this tomorrow.
Oh. Young Master L- called Ch- today and invited him to come over if he wasn’t busy. I think that’s a good sign. Ch-opted to watch the season finale` of Survivor with us instead. After he got off the phone I suggested that the next couple of get togethers happen at our house rather than L-‘s. I probably don’t need to hold a hard line on that but it would make me feel better.

In order to effectively use handicaps in this version of Keeping Score, you must manually adjust the sphere score when you paste the results into your blog if you took a handicap of more than 10 accomplishment points. (OKCupid doesn't handle numbers past 127.)
In order to do that, open the edit function after you paste the results into your journal and find the sphere score number that is over 100. Change the hundreds digit in that score to reflect the actual handicap.
