It's too early

I can't believe I'm updating Livejournal this early on a Monday morning. It shouldn't be allowed. I should still be in bed.

Sadly, there's even worse news. I think I'm becoming a cricket fan. I didn't mean to be, but I ended up watching the Ashes on Saturday evening at about 1 in the morning and I was sad that England were losing pitifully. And then today I spent a whole 10 minutes reading the paper and being happy that we weren't losing quite so badly, and the worst part was that I actually understood some of the words.** I even have a tag for it. I'm just off to check the BBC to find out how they did overnight -- alas, we lost, but we knew we would and it wasn't by too much. We can pull it back, it'll be fine! (Do y'see what's happened? How do I make it stop!?)

I have a lot of work to do this week and I really can't be bothered. I usually have a few hours today and tomorrow, but tomorrow I plan to stay in bed because my morning lecture is cancelled. And then, really, what are the chances of me actually coming in during reading week? Very little. (By the way, what do any of you know about South Italian pots compared to Attic pots? Anything? Didn't think so).

I am a bit bemused by this story (Woman dies in bookcase trap). Did the bookcase fall on her? If so, wouldn't the family have noticed? Did she fall behind the bookcase? How is that possible? I should stop a-wandering the BBC website. It's them you have to blame for that whole cricket thing.

**I particularly liked the sentence which said that England would require an "unlikely shower of biblical proportions" to win the First Test, which is just very British.
