So my friend Christine wants to get a tattoo, but from a talented artist. So she came to me... I'm so flattered. At first she wanted something similar to my Virgo tat, but only I am allowed to have that one. Which is the driving reason of me drawing it myself. She later changed her mind and came up with the notion of bad girls with guns. I instantly had a shitload of references like Faye Valentine, Jill Valentine & Ada Wong of Resident Evil, Trish from Devil May Cry, Seres Victoria of Hellsing... man that bitch had a fucking cannon! Those chicks from Sin City, or Danielle Ortiz on the cover of that old Ice-T album. She liked the concepts behind them but didn't want a copywritten character. She wanted me to do a manga version of her... but with guns! So I first came up with a rough draft...
I was gonna draw her with a "Jessica Rabbit"-like dress with a garter belt but she wanted something more risque and intimidating. So that's where I went with the daisy dukes and the thigh boots. With this pic she gave me the definite go to elaborate.
Here is a somewhat finished draft. But I had hit a wall with the possible tops to wear. It's going on her body so I felt she should choose, but the shorts, fishnet stockings, and boots were a must. I couldn't decide whether to draw her with a tube top, bikini top, wifebeater, tattered cut-off tank top, or a tattered camisole... etc. And the heels of her boots are clear.
And I guess this could count as a final draft with descriptions for the tattoo artist. I just changed her top to black and added a fishnet crop top and penciled in her boot heels as well. I'm keeping the Desert Eagles because what's not to like about .50 pistols? But I think I'm gonna lose the laser sights. Badasses don't use visual aids on guns unless you're a sniper... i.e. Dante from Devil May Cry. Makes me wonder how much detail will be lost once the inking procedure ensues. Since she's going to see my tattoo artist AND be using my concept art as well, I'm gonna be insanely pissed if I'm not there when she gets it done. I know I'm not the one that'll be etching it into her skin, but the notion of one pretty much leaving their mark on somebody forever is pretty badass. She hasn't seen the final product yet so I don't know which one she's gonna go with. But anybody else wanna give some input?
And on a more random note, House is the greatest scripted show on regular television! It's like he gets funnier and more insane with each new episode.
