Taking a break...
...From the 12th Night gown debacle. I'm having too much trouble settling on what I want to do, and I keep coming back to the fact that what I want to do happens to be make a jacket. So, I'm going to make one, and since there's a good chance I'll be able to make Purgatorio the weekend after this one, I want to make it for that occasion.
Maybe if I make it and I get it out of my system, I can better focus on what needs to happen with the 12th Night outfit. And having more clothes is always a good thing. :)
What really sparked my inspiration was yesterday morning, I was digging through my closet trying to find something to wear to work, and my eye caught the two yards of yummy cream wool I've had for years in my stash. I thought, "Self, that would make a really nice jacket, with black braid on the seam lines, and a black linen skirt to go with it."
Black + White = Sarah's most favorite color combination ever.
And seeing how fast I put together the gold silk jacket/doublet/whatever, I could do this all by hand, since it's even less work than the gold would be.
So, yay!
