Here occurs the shocking and frightening history of the wild berserker

Prince Modula, how he impaled potatoes and roasted them, boiled their heads in a kettle, how he skinned them alive and hacked them to pieces and then drank their blood. Ja, Modul!

Today is the anniversary of my birth. That so called 'birthday'. I'm at work. I've been up since approximately 6am and I've spoken to half a dozen people and at length with only one person...who couldn't speak English with any confidence.

My birthday is usually interesting as far as storms go. Hurricane Ioke has been the interesting story so far, being born in central Pacific and reaching category 5. However, Ernesto has a rough run through the Caribbean but if it manages to survive the wind shear then the Gulf will be a wonderful place for it to grow.

Also for my birthday, the IAL decided to confuse everybody. It has decided to demote Pluto from being named a planet. That's not confusing at all of course, what is confusing is that they decided to call it a 'Dwarf Planet'. Now this kind of contorted lexicon is understandable in science when we have nomenclature issues relating to tradition. It is astonishing to see it deliberately employed.

To sum up - a Dwarf Planet is not a planet. A dwarf star is a star, indeed a dwarf x is a type of x - a dwarf type of x.

On evolution there has been unusual rumblings with regards to grants. Evolutionary Biology was suspiciously omitted from the list of valid majors eligible for grants. I don't know the details of grant giving but its all a little odd.

Should make for an interesting day - tomorrow should be a bad day...as western tradition dictates.

birthday
