Re: Fill: Bittersweet Hereafter, Ned/Catelyn, AGoT Au, Ned takes the black workswithwords March 23 2012, 20:04:03 UTC
"You feel so good in my arms, Cat," he says, his mouth on her throat, on her jaw, the scratch of his stubble makes her skin to sensitive and she moan softly into him when he finally puts his mouth on hers. His mouth is hot, and tastes like him, and she realizes how much she missed it, his taste, the feel of lips on hers, the way his tongue is thick in her mouth. There is such a familiarity to it that Catelyn is overwhelmed by it, and she rolls her hips hard against him, showing it's not enough, she needs more, she needs him, now.

His hand reaches down between her thighs, two thick fingers sliding up and down her cunt as he spreads her wetness over her, touching everywhere but the tight bundle of nerves aching for his touch.

"Ned...please..." Her plea is high in her throat, her mouth against his own and he hums softly, his teeth nipping at her bottom lip.

His thumb and forefinger squeeze over her nub, and Catelyn moans, louder this time, pushing her hips into him, against him, and only then does Ned acquiesce, sliding his fingers inside her, his thumb still on her clit. Catelyn has one hand at the back of his neck, and the other clings to his upper arm as she rides his fingers. They twist and curl inside of her and she is close to her peak, and can feel it, that cold heat building, growing stronger. She remembers the first time, it had been after the war, she'd already birthed one babe, he had brought home another, and they were still practically strangers. It hadn't been gentle, or tender, but he had made her feel alive, wanted, and under his mouth and hands she had found a release she hadn't known existed.

He flips her onto her back now, leaving her panting and aching for release as he stands beside the bed and steps out of his breeches. His cock is stiff with arousal, thick and hard, and when he climbs over her and between her legs, she feels the hot burn of his flesh against her belly, against the inside of her thigh, and then, right where she wants.

Ned kisses her again, over and over, soft tender kisses, and Catelyn almost wants to tell him to stop, because suddenly it's too much, the thought of never having his mouth on hers, of never feeling his hands, rough and calloused as they are, on her skin, and the desperate ache she feels at the thought of him never being inside her. When he thrusts into her she cries out, curls her limbs around him, and never wants to let go.

They lay like that for what feels like hours, joined together, her hands in his hair, on his face, mouths open against each other, breathing each other's breath. It is the most blissful and saddest moment in Catelyn's life.

"Give me another child," she says softly, as they begin to move together, the simple quiet rhythm they both know so well. "Let me carry part of you inside me again, one last time." They don't speak after that, but their actions speak for them, touching, kissing, and the slow, steady build as he slides within her.

Catelyn finds her release first, her body moving and rolling as she climaxes around him, clenching him tightly within her body, and it brings Ned to meet her. His mouth still against the pale skin of her shoulder as he shudders and she can feel him, filling her with his seed.

"You will always be mine," Catelyn says, as the lay in each others embrace, his head against her chest. "They could send you to the deepest of the seven hells and still you will always be mine, Ned Stark."

He takes her twice more than night, and in the morning when Catelyn wakes, pleasantly sore yet heartbroken that the day is finally here, she smooths a hand over her stomach, certain that in the horrid nightmare of all this, there will be something to look forward to once again.

I AM SITTING HERE

DROWNING

IN ALL THE FEELINGS THAT I FEEL

JUST SO YOU KNOW.

THIS IS SO WONDERFULLY BEAUTIFUL AND EVERYTHING I WANTED IT TO BE AND MY FEEEEEEEELINGS!!!!!

Ugh, seriously, there were SOOOOOO many things I loved about it. I loved Catelyn beind determined to put on a brave face, because that is so her. I loved her worrying about his leg and thinking about how she would never be able to bring him comfort. I LOVED NED TALKING ABOUT HOW THERE IS NO HONOR IN WHAT HE'S DOING, AND CATELYN TELLING HIM THE HONOR IS TO HIS FAMILY AND NOT TO ROBERT. Because ughhh, THISSSSS! (I also loved the exact way you had her phrase it, too, 'not to a realm that cowers at the roar of lions' FLAWLESS.)

I loved Catelyn thinking about their wedding night because it made such a sad parallel to first time and last time. I loved her thinking about how she had missed him and how sad that is knowing that they're going to be separated. I ESPECIALLY loved her almost wanting to tell him to stop because it's all just too *much* all of a sudden, SO SADDDDD.

And of course I loved her saying, "Give me another child," because it is very CATELYN and it just makes it so terribly bittersweet.

SO BASICALLY I LOVED EVERYTHING AND THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR WRITING THIS. Seriously, I had a completely horrible day today and this made me feel about a THOUSAND TIMES BETTER. YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL CREATURE AND I MUST REREAD THIS 248692849 TIMES.

OMG EPIC COMMENT OF LOVE. Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are too nice to me!

I am so so so happy that you love it! You have written so many AWESOME, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL pieces and I am so inspired by YOU!

Honestly, there were a few times where I was writing this and I had to stop and like do something else because all I could think was "THIS IS TOO SAD FOR LIFE."

I like Catelyn in the books much better than in the show, and only because I do not think the casting choice was at all appropriate. I loved Michelle Fairley but she's about 10 years too old to play Catelyn who in AGoT is only 34....

Despite the tone and angst, this piece was so much fun to write, and I am so glad that it made your day better!!

MF is a bit old to play Catelyn, but it doesn't bother me too much since they aged up all the kids, too. Mostly I just appreciate her acting skillz (seriously that character feature on Renly for S2, where he tells her that the Lannisters will pay for Ned's death, her face is FLAWLESS, she's doing the whole 'proud-envoy-of-my-son-the-king' stance with her chin tilted up but her eyes are just so tired and devestated UGH PERFECT). Mostly I prefer book!Catelyn to show!Catelyn because they kind of...toned her down a little bit, and I like her just as she is! (When they were attacked on the way to the Eyrie WHERE WAS CATELYN CUTTING SOME BITCHES DOWN THE WAY THAT SHE SO DID???) But I think MF does a good job with what she's given.

OH ALSO. I have to add I also loved Catelyn telling Ned that he would always be hers, because it's something I always wondered about, Aemon says that they have men take vows to take no wife and father no children because then they 'will not love.' And leaving aside how just...not right that is (like what, Benjen doesn't love Ned? Jon doesn't love Robb and Arya?), what happens with the traitors and criminals who are sentenced to the Wall, who ALREADY have taken wives and fathered children? I mean, obviously marriages can be broken but that doesn't stop the FEELINGS.

SQUEEEEE I'm so glad you enjoyed writing this because I certainly enjoyed reading it! It was definitely SO sad but I'm kind of a sucker for sadness with these two when it's not between them, but with all the crap they have to deal with, I think because one of the reasons I love them so much is because they're so functional in a dysfunctional world. <3

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

You have killed me, and yet I'm still typing. However am I doing this?

Seriously. Gorgeous. This is such an interesting AU, because as you so brilliantly explore, it is in some ways sadder to think of Ned being forced to forsake his family than to have him just die.

I don't always find Catelyn the easiest character to sympathize with, but you make me feel for her SO. DAMN. MUCH.

Truly excellent.

Awww! Thank you so much!! I loved the prompt and it just pulled at my heart strings. I understand what you mean about Catelyn, and I'm so glad I was able to portray her as something that was sympathetic!
