Arys Oakheart is a true knight and a virtuous one, and Tyene Sand is no true lady and no virtuous woman either, and they both love Arianne Martell.
So it was but a matter of time before all three of them ended up in bed together. Well, not precisely in bed, because when it happens they are in one of the private gardens of Sunspear. The late afternoon sun is hot and the shade of the orange tree is cool, and the three of them lie together on a cotton blanket in Martell colors and fuck. Tyene rides Ares backwards and Arianne is in her arms, and she has one hand between her cousin's legs, two fingers curled inside of her. Arys wishes he could see her face as well as Arianne's (she is open-mouthed, eyes half-lidded), because he desires her (oh, as much as he desires Arianne, and he wonders why the Seven has cursed him so, that he should feel such strange desires), but does not trust her. She is the Viper's daughter, and no snake's egg has ever hatched anything but another snake. Despite all his worrying about fair-haired Tyene, he comes first, spilling inside her.
Tyene and Arianne look at each other and smile--better than the first one we tried,, says Arianne's look, and but not by too much, says Tyene's--and Tyene keeps circling her hips until she shudders into climax herself. Arianne last, then, and it's her cousin's name on her lips, although Ser Arys doesn't hear. Tyene slides off and down, and they all lay there together for a moment, the sun gilding them. Then Tyene sits up and stretches. "I must away, my lady cousin, Ser," she says. "There is an evening service in the sept I must attend." Ser Arys stares at her, and she knows that he is wondering what sort of woman of faith fucks her cousin and her cousin's man. No woman of faith at all,, she thinks, and smiles and pins up her hair.
After Tyene has gone in a rustle of modest silks, Arys turns to Arianne and says, "You told me she was as a sister to you." Unspoken is why--why would you ask this thing of me, why did I say yes, why would you want another woman of your own blood in bed with us?. "I also said,," says Arianne, adjusting the shoulders of her gown. "That we shared everything. Why should we not also share our men?"
