I have a small basket on a shelf in my office that has 9 stones/small rocks in it of varying sizes/colours/textures. I bought them almost 6 years ago while at an executive management development "thing" for a week at the Center for Creative Leadership in Colorado Springs. I was *so* inspired by my week of focusing on the potential within me (pls note intended sarcasm now), that I splurged on the stones (which were like 5 bucks each). Each of the stones has a word engraved into it:
- Explore
- Wonder
- Trust
- Patience
- Strength
- Balance
- Healing
- Dream
- Wisdom
Every day I put my hand into the basket, shuffle the stones around and randomly (without peeking) pick one of the stones. Which ever stone it is, that word is my word of the day. The word I meditate on, the word that I focus on and try to be present with. The word that for some reason the universe has decided I need in my life.
Today my word is Wisdom.

Wisdom \Wis"dom\ (-d[u^]m), n. [AS. w[imac]sd[=o]m. See Wise,
a., and -dom.]
- The quality of being wise; knowledge, and the capacity to
make due use of it; knowledge of the best ends and the best means; discernment and judgement; discretion; sagacity; skill; dexterity.
- The results of wise judgements; scientific or practical
truth; acquired knowledge; erudition.
Syn: Prudence; knowledge.
Some days I really struggle with that damn basket. Today would be one of them.
Wisdom: I'm thinking about certain things (decisions) that I have made and wondering if they were indeed wise. I feel that they were...but if I am a fool, wouldn't I feel the same way?
‘The fool doth think himself wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.’
- William Shakespeare
