I got a letter from UCSC, an unofficial notification of financial aid ability. They say I can expect a financial aid package worth $20,103 so my family and I would have to come up with just under $5,000.
That's pretty kick ass, although I have to wonder how much of it will be in student loans. I should start looking into outside scholarships and grants. Actually, I should have done that a while ago but whatever. It looks like it's gonna be a pretty good deal. I'm pretty sure that between me, my dad, step mom, and mom we can pay more than $5000 which means maybe i can turn down some of the loans. I may be in pretty good shape money wise, I was not expecting such a good deal.
Then again, it is unofficial. Brigitte was told she was gonna get a fat purse in a Cal Grant and got screwed over. So I won't get my hopes up quite yet, but I'm still pretty pleased.
I'm trying out the Genius feature on iTunes -- the thing that automatically makes a playlist from a starting song of yoru choice. It's actually a pretty decent playlist.
Safeway is still being retarded about scheduling around my internship, I'm beyond frustrated.
I just watched a documentary about depleted uranium poisoning. Pretty disturbing.
So every one of my roommates is home for their spring break, so i've got the house to myself all week. Despite the big fat sign on our message board that says "CLEAN YOUR DISHES BEFORE GOING HOME FOR BREAK" the sink is completely full, no one washed a siongle damn plate. Whatever.
My skitzophrenic ex roommate almost fucked us over again, we got an $1100 PG&E bill, so we tricked the company into thinking we're all new tenants so now Emily and her family have to figure it out themselves and we're safe. They never even paid us back for the last time they dicked us like that. That'll teach 'em.
My room is so messy we really need a functioning vacuum cleaner. And I should really stop eating in my room.
