I'd better update about last weekend before it's next weekend!

It was a particularly good one, actually. First of all, a post about Saturday morning. This was the day of the Brighton Open, which you might remember I put in a couple of pictures for. Each image was made into two small magnets, one for the artist and one to be placed in the wild.

I'm missing the course already. Partly, I'm missing being allowed in the hallowed corridors of St Martins: I'm sure I appreciated it more than those who actually spend three years there. Yesterday was the 25th Worldwide SketchCrawl. I'd never heard of it until someone on Twitter mentioned it, but as soon as they did, and said that they wanted to do a Brighton one, I was determined to take part. This beautiful doorstep is just minutes from Brighton Station. Nice Italian Colleague and I were plotting over how we could do the same to my own doorstep, until I remembered that we're leasehold, and the doorstep is communal. Presumably even doing the back step would be against the terms of our lease. :(

Wow, Item really ran with huskyteer's late entry: Cats going on holiday. So much so that she's making a 'chapter book' out of it. She did 4 pages tonight and plans more tomorrow. 'Only happy things happen' though.

Congratulations, dermfitz, Item chose your subject today. We had some debate over whether "a monkey. In a castle. With a red flag" meant the monkey had to be holding the flag, or whether the flag could be on the castle. Actually, if I'm completely truthful, we also had a debate over whether the flag had to be red, but let's gloss over that.

We cracked open the paint box when I got home from work, but I have to say that neither of us was really in the optimal mood for art. Item starts school tomorrow and I guess her anxiety is manifesting itself in whinginess. And I'm just common or garden knackered.
