I felt sorry as I wrote this that I didn't have more to say about it really, especially knowing that you were looking forward to this episode! But the basic facts were, it's a boat, it has cats on it, and Item spent a lot of time trying to stroke them, including ones that really didn't want her attentions. The visit was more than the sum of its parts, I suppose.
TBH I think it's a fairly common - and reasonably - association. Clearly the Cat Boat has spruced up its act since those days as it now comes across as much more like your average vet/rescue centre once you've got over the fact that it's all on a boat.
