Oh, I think he might be getting muddled with the call for people to keep *regular* diaries! They've been saying that for years, otherwise I would definitely have applied to do that.

This is the 12th May call - no mention of who they want: http://www.massobs.org.uk/write-for-us/12th-may

This is the call for regular diarists: http://www.massobs.org.uk/write-for-us/become-a-mass-observer

"Due to high demand we are currently only recruiting male writers who are aged 16-44, living in all regions of the UK except the South East. We do accept applications from people who meet two of the three criteria (for example, we would accept female writers aged between 16-44, living in the North), but due to limited resources we are sadly unable to accept all applicants. Please do not apply unless you meet at least two of the three criteria."

Boo, I have finally exceeded their age limit but I still fail on the other two. I will have to move/change gender.

Ah, tut! Kevan's usually a pretty careful reader but you're right, we could have submitted our diaries after all. I've forgotten my day now, but it had a lot of grumbling about estate agents in it!

Glad Item's coping all right with the SATs. They all sound a bit much, but I haven't heard any of the kids I know around her age complaining about them yet. Perhaps they're more resilient than their worried parents!

It is quite confusing - now I've read my own comment I see that I've also misconstrued it, gah. I am *too old*, ie a typical elderly woman who is presumably the epitome of the kind of person who puts themselves forward for this sort of thing.

I would have liked to read your grumbling entry, bah. And yes, Item is fine, I suspect because she's got a very good teacher, but I do appreciate that might not be the case for everyone.
