sat.night..s's dinner party..she made risotto with barley and vegan chocolate pate (with coconut milk and dark chocolate)!
sun night..h's party..we made juice, buttons & sugar candy in the snow
fri.night..a documentary called "le voyage de Nadia", a doc. by a womon about the lives of wimmin in a small town in Algeria..
The discussion afterwards was amazing..VERY controversial. She discussed the normalisation of a very patriarchical upbringing, where men routinely beat their wives and where they were not permitted to leave their homes. Many members of the audience were upset by the one sided perspective, men and wimmin. I think it is always really interesting to listen to highly reactive people when traditions are called into question...
i want to say more about this..but i should write a paper now..
