I'm a little tired right now, but whatever I can remember from the event. I will try to jot down, cause you know my memory is horrible...but, thank god I had my book and a pen to do some writing.
First of all, it was beautiful, it was packed!..but beautiful, I love the performaces. I finally got to meet my friend; "Mo Betta Blues", he's a cutie pie in person.. real cool dude, and its crazy cause he only lives a couple of blocks down from me. I love the vibed at the place..black love.
I got there around 8:30; which he had told me to get there earlier because it was going to be packed by the time he was ready to get on stage, which was true...but of course, I didn't listen. I stood up for a while because there was no seats. I got to hear from some good spoken word artists. Three of them did a spoken-word on Mothers, titled Mommy. I swear, if they would have did one more verse on it, I would have broke down in tears, because it was that deep. There were two of them that worked on that piece, that I fell in love with.. their words that is. I was sitting there like... damn, this is good. good stuff, and its a shame that we can hardly find this now a days. Talent. REAL TALENT.
ambienceman, this is the lounge I was telling you about, thats around my way.
I forgot my camera.
Oh Isa Starr was there as well..oh, and another guy was there.. I can't remember his name..but they said he used to chill, or he was in a group with Professor X-you know.. the dude that just died.
whoa.. I got distracted for a minute... i'll end it here. i'm off to show my friend some love, then get some sleep.. oh he's on myspace as well.. just look him up.
