Had our own little book fair yesterday and this is my haul. Ok I lie. Only Man's Best Friend and Cold Sleep are mine, the rest are on loan from
b.
Ended up re-reading Man's Best Friend because it's so much fun. Funny how when I brought this out on the table face up over at Cibo where we had dinner and
b flipped it over in embarrassment. It didn't help that all the waiters were male, too :p I now have both the Japanese and English copies :3 The English one is slightly bigger than the Japanese tankoubon and I prefer the paper quality of the latter. But it's good enough. The copy of Cold Sleep is really good. Shiny and new *_______* Paper so white and thick. Feels packed and heavy for a small book. After hearing about this for years now, I can finally read this and listen to the drama.
I also started reading not simple by Ono Natsume of Ristorante Paradiso and House of Leaves fame, just the prologue but I already want to read more. Would have had I not been so tired.
1. Barry Hughart - Bridge of Birds: A Novel of an Ancient China That Never Was
2. Yoshinaga Fumi - Antique Bakery, Volume 1-4
3. Ono Natsume - not simple
4. Takashima Kazusa - Man's Best Friend
5. Konohara Narise - Cold Sleep
Looking forward to reading the rest of my book assignments.
