[fanfic] Fun with scars (G)

Nov 26, 2009 20:58

Fic or drabble? Does this qualify as a fic? This nonsense inspired by staring at the Reborn Calendar too long. I apologize in advance for the lack of pr0n (or motorcycles for that matter). Told you it went a different direction OTL

Title: Fun with scars
Rating: G (?)
Characters: Ryohei, Yamamoto, Gokudera
Warning: nonsense
Disclaimer: Reborn is not mine, I just like to borrow the characters for my nefarious ends. Again, I am not a writer. This is just me pretending to be one orz

Forced myself to get this out today in memory of MY big brother, who would have been 34 were he still alive today.

This fic is dedicated to all my reborn writing friends. They're the real writers

The first person Yamamoto sees as he returns from a mission is the Sun Guardian. Something was different, he just couldn't quite put his finger on it.

As he walked closer to where Sasagawa Ryohei was leaning over a railing in uncharacteristic melancholy, he finally realized what that something was.

"Don't you feel naked?" he greeted, an easy grin on his face.

"WHAAAT?" Ryohei asked as he looked up in confusion.

Still smiling, he waved a hand in the general direction of the boxer's face, "Without a band-aid on your nose, that is."

Ryohei's hand flew to his nose in reflex, now without it's usual covering.

"AH!" he exclaimed, "I FORGOT!"

Yamamoto couldn't help but chuckle in response.

"I ran out of band-aids. Forgot to buy some. You don't got any with you, do you?"

Yamamoto chuckled some more and shook his head no. "Why do you always have one on anyway? I don't see any wound or scar."

"Habit." he said with a sheepish grin. He sobered a bit as he remembered his reasons. "Since I always get my nose into trouble for one reason or another, I used to keep a band-aid on so Kyoko wouldn't see how bad things were." he explained.

"By the time I got better at fighting and got hit less and less, it became a habit so I'd end up putting one on everyday thinking Kyoko won't worry so much this way."

"I'm surprised there's no scar, especially if it kept getting hit there."

"Nah, just this one." he said, tapping the scar on his left temple.

"Ah, I heard you got that one when you were fighting to protect Kyoko."

"First and last," he grins, "Got stronger and haven't been that careless since. Kyoko wouldn't like it."

"How about you?" Ryohei asks. "How'd you get that scar on your chin?"

"Oh this? Training accident" he replies, somewhat embarrassed.

"EXTREME!" Ryohei shouts, awe in his voice. "I never get any scars when I train with Garyuu, just bumps and bruises." he recalls, his tone almost wistful.

Yamamoto laughs at that. "Well, it's a different story if you're training with sharp objects."

"AH! YOU'RE RIGHT!" he exclaims. "So, cut yourself, huh?" he jokes.

"Ah, actually..." Yamamoto begins awkwardly, "my ah sparring partner kinda got carried away." he ends, grinning foolishly.

"Huh." Ryohei decides that it's kinda cool and reverts to his favorite expression, "EXTREME!"

Yamamoto could only laugh helplessly at that.

The next person he sees is the Storm Guardian.

When Gokudera saw the scar on Yamamoto's chin, he had to make snide remarks.

"Cut yourself shaving?" Gokudera snickers.

"Haha, this? I was just telling sempai about it. Training accident actually." Yamamoto replies as he rubs his chin thoughtfully.

"HAHAHA. Wow man that is SO lame."

Yamamoto shrugs good-naturedly and asks all nonchalant, "How's Uri?"

Gokudera scowls as he remembers the fresh scratches from his recent bout with the uncooperative box weapon. You'd think having that cat for a couple of years would change that. But no, the damn cat was still as prissy as ever.

Yamamoto couldn't help but laugh as he watched Gokudera's scowl deepen.

"Shut up, baseball freak."

Yamamoto just laughs harder. "I missed you, too."

Notes: Yes, that was really bad. I have no excuse other than the fact that I've always been fascinated by scars, how they got theirs, and Ryohei's band-aids.

P.S. If you have not done so, please PLEASE leave your addresses here. Failure to do so will prompt me to poke you individually. For ppl in my area, I don't care if we're meeting in person soon. I want to actually MAIL these out and revive the art of using the postal system XD
