Funny how I managed to confuse myself and found no saving grace in my MAL listing as I tried to figure out which old manga series I should get back to, complete, or at the very least make a dent out of.
I thought of catching up to the Ranma ½ anime, then I remembered that I wanted to read it in tandem with watching the series. But when I look at how far I got, it seems I abandoned that plan long ago. So that led me to re-reading the Mermaid Saga so I can enjoy completing the series in paperback form, but apparently I never logged my progress anywhere. I remember now that I stopped because I only had volume 1 of the Viz compilation when I started and it ended at a cliffhanger. The second half concluded in volume 2, which I had yet to acquire at the time. And then I see that the MAL entry has been converted to what appears to be the Japanese tankoubon chapter and volume numbering. So I spent a bit of time unearthing my Japanese volumes to check. I said I'd let the Japanese versions go as soon as I've completed the English Viz compilation, which I have. But I seem to be reluctant despite the lack of shelf space. So that puts this to the top of my list so I can decide if I should revisit this matter or not.
Other titles I had thought to catch up to but encountered similarly scenarios were Hajime no Ippo (planning to read til I catch up to where I left off watching in the anime since I ended up marathoning the anime and they've piled up), Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles and xxxHOLiC (oh god where to start), Saiyuki Reload (oooh this actually looks promising yet bittersweet at the same time), Kaichou wa Maid-sama! (oh there, something that needs unboxing so I can read and watch in tandem), House of Five Leaves (must throw self at ossan a's mercy since the online chapters have been removed before I could read them), Kimi to Boku (which keeps getting pushed to the backburner *sigh*), Rurouni Kenshin (which seems to be slow going for some reason) and the rest of Nobuhiro Watsuki-sensei's works (which I can't get into until I finish RK because I wanted to read them in chronological order).
Well, that probably made no sense to you but it certainly helped organize stuff in my head. May just use an old journal to log and
correlate (egads, I thought I had more) my progress so I don't get this confused again. Should be interesting to see me try to do chapter reviews, or at the very least reviews per arc so I have a clear stopping point.
