日本語能力試験 (JLPT) levels

Now, let's talk about Japanese Language Proficiency Test. I've just passed level 4 though, so I'm not that good yet... From what I heard before, going from level 4 to level 3 is relatively easy and we should not memorize Kanji that much. But going from level 3 to level 2 is REALLY difficult. The vocabulary, Kanji, and structures differ significantly from level 3. To sum it up, it goes this way:

4________3___________________2__________1

But as of this year, the structure will be like this...

I heard that JLPT will consist of five levels as of this year. Is that true? To shorten the gap between level 3 and 2, the test will consist of five levels. It means that.. more challenge awaits for those who have passed level 4 and going to take level 3! Some part of level 2 will be there, right...?

5_______4___________3___________2_______1

My friend also told me before that the question in JLPT in an odd year will be much more difficult compared to even year. IS THAT TRUE? D8
It means I have to study really hard, because I'm going to take the exam this year...considering that I have to practice more on choukai.
