Diwali
I hope everyone had a safe and "sound" Diwali!
Ma Belle was definitely a concern for us, but she impressed us with her tolerance and temperament, yet again. Overall, the initiation was successful, I thought. Of course, she was alarmed by the LOUD bursting noise, she is just a baby, you see, but she didn't jump or hide as such.
I started with cotton balls. Everytime I would stuff her ears, madam will shake her head so hard or scratch her ears to pop them out till I finally gave up. Then, Arvi and I took her out with us on Monday morning and started with the tiny red crackers. Then we burst a few bigger bombs. The inspiration behind it was her being at ease with anything she witnesses us doing. After a little scare, she was quite at ease with the noise.
Am sure, with her auditory powers that are 20x ours, she must have hurt her ears, but at least she wasn't jumpy. What else, in the evening when others started their cracker fest, this one was confidently strutting to the balcony, barking to scold at the direction of the noise and coming back in to invite us to join in her sojourn! It was all so cute :D :D
